A quarterly report from the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight says prices nationwide ended the 4th quarter of 2005 was 12.95 percent. The OFHEO says that is actually slightly higher than the revised 12.55 percent appreciation from the third quarter of 2004 to 2005, showing no sign of a slowdown.
In the District, the year over year gain in prices was nearly 22 percent, the fourth largest year over year gain in the nation. The year-over-year gain in prices in Maryland was 21.48 percent, and 19.66 percent in Virginia, both ranking in the top ten.
