a record rainfall of 3.71 inches was set at Washington Dulles DC
yesterday. This breaks the old record of 1.12 set in 1977.

Gack! More than triple the old "record".

Those soothsaying weathermen missed this one too. Was supposed to have a chance of rain during the day. My rain guage tops out at 6" and it was full this morning. Doug Hill had some blog post on why they misjudged this one. Nonsense about warm air masses stalling or some bullcrap. Can't forecast snow and now they can't even predict rain? Come on...
