You Big D democrats out there should be calling for Obama to ask Geithner to step down. His crimes are worse than Daschle's and he committed tax evasion with full knowledge and made a profit from it. He can't even plead ignorance - he committed his crimes with his eyes wide open. How can he be in charge of the IRS? How can the Democrats condone his behavior while railing against 'greedy' CEOs?

Daschle’s negligence was gross, particularly for a party and an administration that have celebrated prostration before the taxman as a “patriotic duty.” But Daschle’s offenses, galling as they may be, are exceeded by those of Geithner. Indeed, of all the tax transgressions touching Obama’s circle, Geithner’s are the worst.
Not only did Geithner neglect to pay his taxes, he turned a buck by doing so—accepting payments from his employer for the very purpose of offsetting those taxes. When he took the money, he signed a statement promising to pay the taxes and then ignored his obligations—for years. Protected by a statute of limitations, he did not pay his 2001–02 taxes until his nomination made them a public issue.

We need to quit this bickering and move on to solutions. According to leader of the demokratic House Nancy Pelosi, we are losing 500 million jobs per month of inaction. 500 MILLION. There are only about 306 million people in the US, which probably means about 160 million workers when you take out kids and retired people.

When it's you who is unemployed...it's 100%. We who live in the bubble of the Washington DC bubble had better be able to at least show a little sympathy. As far as the spending bill goes...at least it's money spent in this country rather then Iraq...Korea...Europe...Japan to help prop up the crumbling US empire.
