Poplar Tree Road Checkpoint?

I went down poplar tree road today around 4:10 and I went through a checkpoint of somesort I was wondering if anybody knew what the checkpoint was for there were 2 cops and some cones if that helps they also had one guy pulled over.

If you went through the check point, why did you not ask the officers what was going on?

Was it near the HOV ramp? Maybe they were pulling violators over.

End of month = farming for expired plates, expired inspection stickers. The people pulled over had something expired.

That was my first thought, too. But wouldn't they look for expired stuff the first week of February, not the last week of January?

Maybe they were just short on their quota, I guess, and trying to catch up before the end of the month so they don't get yelled at.

You'd think so, but whenever I see those it's at the end of the month for some reason. Maybe it is because it would be at least 3-4 weeks late at that point and people can't use excuses like "I left it to the end of the month but then got sick."
