I think that a more interesting question is how many people plan on hitting stores in a big way on Black Friday? If you look at some of the early ads (http://bfads.net/) you see good deals here and there, but is there any really urgency or need to be out there early?

We have some extra cash right now, but have decided to spend it on remodeling our basement and making it into a home theater with a new 50" plasma. My wife has done a good job throughout the year looking for gifts for family and friends, but there is nothing out there that really wants me to rush out and buy at Target, Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond or Best Buy.

All of the electronics are being purchased online from Crutchfield or Overstock.com with just a few items coming from Lowe's.

heard there was mattress on the loose somewhere out there, so yeah, why not, unless it is cold.

No. Why on Earth would anyone do that? The real sales don't happen until closer to X-Mas anyway...especially this year.
