Alexandria Continues to move Section 8 to the Fairfax County Border

It's amazing that over the past 30 years Alexandria has bee slowly moving all of it's section 8 housing to the western end of Alexandria (Landmark area) out of Old town. Fairfax fired the first volley back in the 80's building a section 8 apartment complex on Edsall road RIGHT on the Alexandria border. Alexandria responds by building an taking over apartments in the West end section to be right there as well. The Landmark area, once known as "Condo Canyon" has become the depository for all the "unwanteds".

And people wonder why, with all of these transients moving into its vicinity, Landmark Mall is going outdoors again...
