Fairfax County should annex Manassas

This is a great idea. Everyone there works in Fairfax anyway, might as well let the plumbers and landscapers enjoy what Fairfax has to offer. Fairfax could also spend some money fixing up Manassas. A lot of places in Fairfax are close to Manassas anyway, like Centreville. Centreville is basically just glad they aren't Manassas, but they are damn close.

Why would anyone want to annex that dump?

I believe Virginia law does not currently allow a county to annex a city.

I live in Centreville, and you're right. The minute you cross over Bull Run everything goes to shit.

Like West Germany taking over East Germany and nearly going broke fixing that mess up. Fairfax doesn't need Manassas, much less any of PW county,

Remember that all of Fairfax county was annexed from Prince william county.

from wiki,

Fairfax County was formed in 1742 from the northern part of Prince William County. It was named for Thomas Fairfax, 6th Lord Fairfax of Cameron (1693–1781), proprietor of the Northern Neck.[6]

Damn right. I breath a sigh of relief every time I cross back over Bull Run on 28.. Hell, that goes for crossing north over the Occoquan on 123 from Woodbridge as well.

Manassas has some really good food and services that you will never find anything close to that quality in Fairfax.

It has "man ass" in the name. Doesn't that say it all?

Demographics have been changing in the past 25 years for PWC. The older sections are primarily still blue collar and have seen considerable black and white flight. The newer sections/developments are almost exclusively white collar. For example drive down Davis Ford RD, explore the gated communities around Dominion Valley, the golf communities around Lake Manassas, etc. and check out the number of million dollar + homes on large lots. (The type of houses you (and I) will never be able to afford.) Many folks move from FFX because they can afford a "dream house" that otherwise would be unobtainable in FFX CO. In the entire country PWC ranks #10 ( FFX #4) in median household income. Both well within the top 1% in the U.S. However, Fairfax's numbers are on the decline as PWC continues to rise.
Not your father's PWC.

Didnt FFXU have a rather interesting chapter in its history involving an Australian ex-pat who was from the "white collar" part of manassas?

OH HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Manassas = Crackheads and Hispanic neighborhoods.

We shipped all the losers out of Fairfax county to Manassas a while ago. We don't want Manassas back.

If anything we should put a big gate on RT28 to stop traffic entering Fairfax county from Manassas.

DO. NOT. WANT.

You can talk about shifting demographics all you like, but take one drive down Route 28. I don't particularly care for five thousand used tire shops and pay day loan stores. Keep it over there in PWC.
