Best 'free' area to planespot at Dulles Airport?

You have to pay $15 dollars to park your car at the 'free' Air and Space museum @ Udvar Hazy, or you can pay the $5 per hour at the daily parking inside the airport.

Is there anything similar to gravelly point at IAD? The Sully historic plantation is close but not really ideal for photographers due to the tree coverage.

Can try the Avion Parkway business park -- on the other side of the museum parking lot tree line. Used to work there - would get the occasional low flying big ass plane.

I believe it's $17 to park your car at Udvar now...I'm too lazy to Google it...defnitely more than $15
