Arrest Made in Sexual Assault

Franconia Police District – Officers were called to 6364 Springfield Plaza at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. A 23-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted. Earlier in the day, the victim was detained and charged with misdemeanor shoplifting. She claimed a loss prevention officer coerced her into performing a sexual act. The victim was transported to the hospital.

Detectives conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of Tabbasum H. Gilani, 29, of 7965 Almeda Court, in Lorton. Gilani was the loss prevention officer who detained the victim earlier in the day. Gilani was charged with abduction with intent to defile and forcible sodomy. He was transported the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Exactly. He told her he would let her off if she blew him. When she did, he still called the police on her.

Something's wrong with this story. This girl seems to be just looking for revenge because she got caught. She got caught June 6 so why not report something the same day that he called the cops on you. Seems like a woman taking advantage of the situation since her butt got caught. I'm a woman too and can't blame this guy without hearing his side or the entire facts. Women can be crazy sometimes!

Maybe the dumb ass did something stupid? Like calling her? Getting caught on camera? Maybe she had his DNA on her? Hard to explain how that got there.

Tabbasum is going to get some in jail. Don't bend over for the soap.

He can add, "went in a tight end. Came out a wide receiver" to his Cv. His wife can even get a strapon so he doesn't get out of practice.

A K-Mart loss prevention officer is in police custody after a 23-year-old woman who was charged with shoplifting at the store claimed she was sexually assaulted while in his custody.

Fairfax County Police said they responded to a K-Mart located at 6364 Springfield Plaza around 2 p.m. on June 6. There, a 23-year-old woman was detained and charged by police with misdemeanor shoplifting.

“She received a summons by police and was released,” said police spokesman Eddy Ezcarate. “Then about two hours later, around 4 p.m., she called police back and reported that she had been sexually assaulted. She claimed a loss prevention officer coerced her into performing a sexual act.”

Loss prevention officers work undercover in retail stores to watch for suspicious behavior and apprehend those attempting theft.

Police said the woman was taken to the hospital and detectives conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of Tabbasum H. Gilani, 29, of the 7900 block of Almeda Court in Lorton.

“Gilani is the only suspect,” Ezcarate said.

Police said Gilani was the loss prevention officer who detained the woman earlier in the day. Gilani was charged with abduction with intent to defile and forcible sodomy. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond. No attorney information for Gilani is yet available in court documents.

I seem to recall that loss prevention/security guys had to have a witness of the same gender as the perp when they were being processed. I'm not sure if that was a law or just a company's policy, but those rules were in place to prevent things like this.
