Gun Permit

I was just wondering what is the procedure behind getting a gun permit in the state of Virginia. How do I apply for a license? Also what is the law in posession of a firearm on a person or in the car?

You don't ned a permit to have a gun in VA.. you just need to be 18 for rifles and shotguns, and I believe 21 for handguns, and not a convicted felon or certified mental patient.

If you want to conceal carry, that's another matter, and gravis is right.. why ask here when google has an instant answer?
