Funeral Parlors

Hey. Just wondering. Any opinions on local funeral parlors? We all know where to get the best pizza, phony ID, pot, etc., but no one ever talks about the really important stuff... like, where you can find a nice funeral parlor. One with ambience, one you'd actually like to come back to, a second time.

Who takes note of this? Do you have any plans to kill someone?

I personally like Mountcastle in Dale Sh*tty. The only one in FFX I have been to is the one in Herndon, on Elden St. That one is soooo small and old.

Billy's smoke house off of 236. They do discount cremations and will prorate payments for those with low incomes. Oh, and their BBQ isn't bad either..

496,

That one sounds pretty good.

I'm just tired of going to funeral parlors where there is absolutely nothing lively going on. All you can do is walk around and hope you don't pass out from the flower fumes. The atmosphere is so gloomy and creepy, it's no wonder that most people don't enjoy going to these places. They're depressing.

If you want a more lively atmosphere, they why not start one of your own?
An on-line course in taxidermy should get you started. You could open one
at Kings Dominion or the 9:30 Club. Or better yet, how about a combination
girly-bar/funeral parlor. Lots of people would like that! Hooters?

That sounds like a plan. Feeling down about your family death? Head right over to the bar in the same building

I recommend Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home/ Cemetary.

Reasonable rates and one-stop shopping. Lay them out in their beautiful building, then take 'em out back and slam 'em into the ground! Cheap limo fees because you don't ever leave the grounds.

One of the very few funeral homes/cemetaries that are family-owned rather than by a huge corporation.

If you are burying your stupid fucking kid that wrapped their car around a tree...they won't be lonely there....there are hundreds of teen car crash stiffs buried there.

You have a point there. Funeral parlors are in great demand. There is never a dead season, so to speak. It's really a great business.

I'll have to check out M&K. Their website looks pretty good.

If I ever open up one, maybe I'll offer an option for wine and cheese, maybe a little dance floor, with the favorite music of the newly deceased being played, etc..

I don't know, maybe that sounds crass.

TO: Shut Up Already!:

WOW, your very first post and already you hate someone. Now, that is indeed a record worth noting.

Have you just returned from one of those dark sad funeral parlors? Did you inhale too many flower fumes?

This is a good example of why we need nicer, friendlier funeral parlors....with more fresh air. Just look what happened to Shut Up Already!.

People used to wake their loved ones in their own homes and bury them in their backyards. That made so much more sense. Alot less expensive.

Here's the kind of funeral I want. One of those Jazz funerals they throw down in New Orleans. Do you think I could pull this off here in Fairfax?

Now you're talkin'!

Remember that James Bond movie with the jazz funeral scene?! That was great...somebody got murdered and the pallbearers lowered a trick coffin to the street and picked up the body...

Which Bond flick was that???

With all my rowdy friends dieing lately, and I still partying trying to join them, I have become very fond of Jefferson Funeral Home behind Edison High School. You could call it Alexandria or Kingstowne. It's one block off from Franconia Rd. and Van Dorn St. They will help you with all your needs. They got it all covered.

Remember, It's not good to be on a first name basis with one of these places, but I am hoping for a frequent flyer discount with them.

How does the police escort work? Does the family pay for that or is it free. I've seen some processions that have 8 or 9 motorcycles and 2 cruisers.
