Conversation: My Friend, Brian The Folk Singer performed yesterday, Friday
evening, so I went with him to set up at around 4:00 PM. I go
often to this neighborhood shopping mall, typically for the Bombay Foods
or for the Afghan Kabab carrie out. On some special famiy event go
to Chilli's Grill and Bar for a fish fry meal, my favorite.
But I was glad to go with Brian to have a look. The place looked
like a old cafe and a very nice friendly ambiance.
The food is rated near the top by Yelp. Looks like this place will be a good
place for a small group gathering place for music or science group as
we get the Cafe Twin Show & Friends going at LinkedIn.Com.
Whether one's interest is in music or science, or both, have a look at
Epicure Cafe for music, food or just hangout with friends as you like.
But anyone looking to virtual team for creating something new , be it
to create a new music video, or develop a technology as we are discussing,
as soon as get the necessary small group, and for those who live in the
Vienna GMU neighborhoods, Epicure Cafe would be great place to meet
for Coffee or a Beer with some food too as we like.
Prelude to virtual team meet at a neighborhood cafe or pub like Epicure,

Conversation: A Proposal For Tech Innovators and Inventors Meet for Technology Development Virtual Teaming
When we can get "yea" from 5 to 10 people who live or work near this neighborhood of Fairfax/GMU, I like to convene an event, tentatively
Friday, say from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with an expert
entrepreneur type to give a 10 minute presentation with a 10 minute Q&A
to stimulate the mind.
A key topic may be technology development opportunities in wireless Protocol and examples of recent project done via small tech biz type technology development.
Financial tool such as the SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) was recently extended by U.S. Congress for 6 years. SBIR can provide $100 K for a project well thoughtout and lead by a qualified PI (Principle Investigator).
My friend, Russ Drew (Retired) started Viking Instruments using SBIR and build it up to a company here in Fairfax to about 30 employees before he sold it to a large company and retired.
I had helped Russ do the market research and identify 2 part time tech support people, one of them retired guy, and the other was a university faculty who was glad to be part of the team with a commitment for 20 hours per month over the duration of the contract, if Russ's company won the grant submission.
I know this process well and worthwhile considering as a way to fund a project, other than via self funded type, or "Angel funded"t types also.
Here is an example of a new opportunity for hardware/software for wireless or other types of apps one can develop via a small virtual team that we have started discussing earlier as a "white paper" topic for which I am now seeking an experienced person tinkering with the Raspberri PI to talk about his project and his experience at our Friday Afternoon 2:00 PM__4:00 PM "Eat and Talk" event as proposed at Epicure Cafe non-live music hour.

I rememebr when this was a Hunter Mill Deli location. The food since it became Epicure cafe has been all over the place. At one point they had guys in chef coats cooking, now it's guys in tshirts. Pick a menu and stay with it.
