Good sledding hills in Fairfax

I've been to the Van Dyke Park hill in Fairfax City - that gets pretty crowded. The hill at the GMU Fieldhouse off of 123 is OK. Anyone know of others?

Lees Corner Elementary! Well, behind it. It's my local "suicide hil"

Gets pretty crowded with kids, but the real little ones stay away because it's too extreme.

If that's too much there's another behind Brookfield Pool.

Both highly recommended.

There's a pretty good one near Seven Corners - next to the BB&T (fromer First Virginia Bank) Towers. I hear it's getting a hotel built on it soon though . . .

The hill at Greenbriar Park is insanely good. You go about 20-30 mph down a hill then go shooting up another onto a field. Intense!

The rear baseball field (that backs up to Sideburn Road) at Robinson HS is really steep and fun.

The embankments near Oakton HS arent that bad.

The great ones arent really in "Fairfax." Try the Masonic Temple grounds in Alexandria City.

My son and his friends loved the one near the Field House on 123 at GMU. It's a huge hill. A long time ago when the Redskins were on strike, we used to see them running up and down those hills because they didn't have practice.

there is also a really good hill in Manassas, off of Ashton Avenue. Although it's a b*tch to climb back to the top. About 3 times the length of suicide behind Lees Corner. You just have to watch out for the mexis sliding on their trash can tops (seriously).

ah yes suicide hill behind brookfield pool, i remember what was cool about that hill was that there was a creek at the bottom of the hill so we would build ramps and see which one of us were actually dumb enough to try an jump it. Good times

the back of the dam at lake braddock (not the high school, the lake). it has at least 100ft of vertical and is pretty steep. you really have to consider your departure point though, as the woods at the bottom of the dam can be close to the end of the slope.

the walk up sucks, but thats a sign of a good hill. people build ramps there all the time, i broke a buddies arm once when we went off of one together and i landed on it.
