I need a plumber

It is a relatively simple job. Basically, it involves removing our existing Moen kitchen faucet and installing a new one that the company sent me under warranty.
I have been quoted prices ranging from $75 to $190 based on plumbers who advertise on CL.
Can anyone recommend a plumber who knows what he is doing and who is reasonably priced? Changing a faucet is not exactly rocket science.

As I have often pointed out, the best resource around is Washington Consumer's Checkbook magazine which you can find at any local bookstore or newsstand. The mag is delivered quarterly but if you subscribe, you get their on-line service, free. You can see which companies are rated high / low. Just like Angies list, but less expensive, plus you get the nice thick mag four times a year.
According to Checkbook, the top rated plumbers doing business in Fairfax County (min 50 ratings) are:
Calabrese (97%) (74 ratings)
Andy Hawkey (97%) (78 ratings)
Andrews (94%) (143 ratings)
Star (90%) (286 ratings)
I've used Star for years and am very happy. "Mark" is the owner and of course, does great work. His two employees are also very good.

Nothing wrong with them except that variation in pricing makes it difficult for me to evaluate what would be a reasonable price to pay for competent service. This is not to say that paying more necessarily ensures better service.

I just had Kittleberger and sons based in Lorton do some plumbing work and I felt it was reasonable and they did a good job.

Try Atlas plumbing. I've been using them for 10 years with good pricing and no problems.

Which part of the county are you located in? Choosing a local plumber can make a significant difference in the price.

Use Booze in Vienna, worked for them and they have done work for me for years.
John Metz, the owner is a nice guy and fair. THey have been in Vienna for almost 60 years.

I heard an ad on WTOP today for "Real Plumbers" that they endorsed.
