May 12, 2013 Appreicating Mother On Mother's Day

Conversation: In appreciation of our own mothers on this Mother’s Day, let us resolve to work to strengthen diginity for mothers who are among the poorest at Fairfax, VA. Yea, Fairfax, I have examined the numbers for Fairfax, VA as released by a Federal Agency.

Fairfax and Richmond beside being wealthiest communities in the State of Virginia, also have the largest number of poor as defined by income standards necessary to survive in today’s society in America.

Poverty for mothers in the bottom of society reduces the vitality potential and quality of life for both poor and middle class, not to mention the wealthiest among us.

Living free in a luxury condo at taxpayer expense

$500 a month in food stamps

Free medical and dental care

$800 a month welfare check

Obamaphone

only in the U S is this considered living in poverty

RE: Gerry's Missing Facts. The case he sighted in not the case for poor in Fairfax County nor is he familiar with the latest numbers and the definition used for poverty.

The case he sights is a cliche he learned while growing up probably in the upper middle class neighborhood.

It's the excuse to face the truth and look at the facts that are readily available for those who seek the truth.

As Ben Franlin reminds us a life stands on one leg, and truth on two. The numbers available for every state in USA, by county is one leg. And the other two know the difficult lives faced by poorest mothers in America to survive.

I will broden my song for dignity and respect for all mothers.

Would you like to switch places with them? I wouldn't.

My house is much nicer than any "luxury condo" they inhabit.

The free medical care they get is far inferior to the medical care that I get through employment.

By the way, there are no more "food stamps." Perhaps you are referring to the SNAP program. (They also use debit cards now; it is 2013 after all.)

What you call an "Obamaphone" comes from a program that began under Reagan. (You probably know this but chose not to let the truth get in the way of a god story.)

I will change places..hell, they have it good, you don't have to deal with rush hour traffic, worry about the rent, health care, and you have free food..They have free cable, and if they fuck up the state will bail them out.

The poorest in the USA are richer than the middle class of most of Latin/Central America. Lazy thankless American "poor" have no idea how good they have it. Try living in houses loosely made of sticks with a cardboard roof, no sanitation, no schools, no food, no nothing. But here, society's entitled leeches complain when their cable goes out for an hour.

Why should I have to switch places with them. I worked for my money, got married and chose not be a slut and pop out little welfare checks. Fuck them, welfare queens and kings are scammers and moochers who have zero appreciation for anyone who actually work and those of us who own them. Give them beans and rice and a tent. I'm sick of seeing them driving liking maniacs in there gas guzzling tanks while texting about how hard their lives are.

In short you fuck up your life, don't go crying to me for a handout.

I have traveled to countries where there is real poverty. Clean running water is unheard of, people get their meals from the garbage dump if they are lucky. Home is a packing crate. In the U S people feel they are living in poverty if their car is over five years old and their obamaphone runs out of minutes.

People here are spoiled rotten by the government with the entitlement culture where everything is given to you.

Amen to that. Not to mention some countries are completely war torn and even if you have a house today in those countries no guarentee it will be there tomorrow.

"Would you like to switch places with them? I wouldn't. "

If it means I dont have to get up and go to work everyday then yes

"My house is much nicer than any "luxury condo" they inhabit."

Unless your home has a club room, swimming pool and weight rooms then no you do not have a better home, plus you have a mortgage every month

"The free medical care they get is far inferior to the medical care that I get through employment."

What do you expect for free, the Mayo clinic

"By the way, there are no more "food stamps." Perhaps you are referring to the SNAP program"

Oh they changed the name to prevent offending the ones sucking on the government tit, that makes all the difference in the world

Re: Fairfax Resolve On Mother’s Day__Dignity For Mothers at Bottom

Conversation:

"poverty" in other nations, for example, Mexico or Africa is not the topic we are discussing here.

The availability of "clean water" in many developing world nation is an important topic but needs a separate forum than this one.

As some of you many be aware, large philanthorpy organizations such as Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation, Care , and Catholic Relief Services are examples of formidable non-profit philanthropics who are working on this issue.

Here in Fairfax, VA, we need to stay focused on Fairfax Resolve__Dignity for Mothers at Bottom with knowledge and wisdom.

Please, if you don't know the real facts, ie, that Fairfax County and Richmond are the two largest urban communities with "Mothers at the Bottom", first issue is to get the facts so you know rather than use cliches and subscribe to national political rhetorics that are not true for Fairfax County, Va or Richmond, VA, the two communities with the largest numbers of such "Mothers at the Bottom" based on real facts and evidence that are available for anyone to examine if you care to do so.

Send me an email and I will refer you to the recently published stats for Fairfax County and Richmond that I examined so we know who is poor and how many are poor and what age groups are really really poor ?

Second I have discussed some "solutions' that other communites addressing this issue via "job training" and other innovative mechanism.

One particular case is the wonderful such program at Denver, Co that I will be contacting the non-profit who have successfully demonstrated in Denver and now moving to other urban cities.

The name of this program as discussed in my Squidoo.com article I just published on the internet is :

Work Options for Women (WOW)

Question: Would what they have been successfully doing to train mothers and others at the bottom for jobs fit at Fairfax County, VA ?

I have no issue with those that truly want to work, but I see examples of those who have one baby after another and expect the taxpayer to fund them. Poor choices = poor results.

I know a woman in her 30's with five kids by four different dads. She hasnt worked a day in her life and does not intend to. Since the kids are infant to 10 years old she is deemed unemployable at this point. Translation she can keep sittig on her ass spitting out one baby after another at our expense. The system is broke when it rewards bad behavior.

Mother's Day Follow Up For All Of Us Who Care & Appreciate

This is my Mother's Day Song.

Just published it few days ago, it's already in my top 10 list !

Until I quite accidentally ran into the most inspiring story about the lady from Culpepper County who married a merchant at age 17 and went to live in Taylor County, Virginia (Before the Civil War (1861-1865).

Let me know what you think of the 3 songs and which one you like best.

Here are the three choices:
(1) Emily (Blue Grass Style, Eddie (Traditional Folk American) , and Reba (Country Southern)
