Terry McAuliffe is the worst, Terry McAuliffe reveals

Political operative's book tells charming stories of treating his wife horribly to schmooze and raise cash VIDEO

BY ALEX PAREENE

Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe is a soulless political animal with no redeeming human characteristics, it has been revealed this week. In a series of personal anecdotes that he believes to be amusingly self-effacing, because he has no clue how normal humans would interpret his behavior, McAuliffe has presented himself as a thoroughly personally detestable creature of power with no ideals beyond victory for his “side.” He also will still probably be the next governor of Virginia...

...No, no one would say that, because McAuliffe is clearly a sociopath.

So, now we know that Terry McAulliffe is the worst of modern party politics, a money-raising machine with no core. Everyone probably could’ve guessed that by looking at his résumé, which is made up entirely of positions in which he handled money, and getting money, for politicians and the Democratic Party. There is a lot of opposition research on McAuliffe dropping this week and it all confirms what a cursory look could’ve told anyone: He’s the worst of the Democratic Party.

Uhhh, Salon is Progressive liberal media outlet dummy.

Which is what makes it a story.

Salon

Salon is a political progressive news website, with content updated each day.[1] Part of Salon Media Group (OTCBB: SLNM), it launched in 1995 by founder David Talbot, who served as CEO of Salon Media Group from 1995 to 1999. The company's current CEO is Cynthia Jeffers.[2] It focuses on U.S. politics and current affairs, and on reviews and articles about music, books and films.[3][4][5]
Salon's headquarters is located west of downtown San Francisco, California.[1] As of November 2010, its editor-in-chief is Kerry Lauerman. His predecessor Joan Walsh stepped down from that position in November 2010 but remained as editor at large.[6]

You missed the last sentence of that paragraph: "He also will still probably be the next governor of Virginia."

As bad as McAuliffe is--and he is bad--Cuccinelli is worse.

I feel a little sorry for Dorothy McAuliffe. Yes, she has to endure Terry's non-stop abuse, but the style of living that all the money and connections buy sort of make up for it.

Not really. I'll take a straight-up guy who I don't agree on everything with over a money-grubbing, no-principles, hypocritical slimeball like McAuliffe any day.

I didn't write that. Weird people type odd things under the screen name I use. I don't care enough to register it. Anyways, I don't see anything factual in the op's story. It seems to be an opinion piece referring to him as nothing more than a "money raising machine." Not very insightful with any information. He was also the campaign director for Hillary Clinton. I know he has tremendous management skills. He's got extraordinary negotiating skills. That apparent in his credentials in the private industry. I think he would probably run a tight nit Governorship, be able to negotiate with a Republican state legislature for effective legislation and be able to convince business migration to Virginia as was the defining characteristic of Democratic Governors before him that we owe so much of our prosperity to.

Now, in comparison with Ken Cuccinelli, wierdo cockblocker. There's no comparison. I wish I could only say that Ken Cuccinelli would only be a complete failure. He will also be a national embarrassment and would profoundly negatively affect the image of Virginia for decades to come.

He's going to focus on ramping up regulations on abortion clinics. Requiring forced ultra sound. Not accepting federal funding for the implementation of ObamaCare. He'll be nothing more than a Tea Party stooge having his opposition to current leadership in Washington supersede the interests of Virginians. Virginians whom are intertwined with the federal government.

On the other hand, I recognize that Ken Cuccinelli has been very effective at representing the legal interests of Virginia, and in particular Northern Virginia. He successfully sued Obama's EPA on behalf of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to overturn an EPA edict on stormwater management that would have cost us hundreds of millions of dollars.

Sure, we will continue to try to scare voters with the abortion issue, while ignoring the fact that the new Virginia regulations will help prevent Kermit Gosnell situations that prey on poor women.

It's a shame that a progressive magazine like Salon allowed an article critical of McAuliffe to be published. I would hope that they would balance it with a great story relating to Terry's leadership in promising 1,500 jobs with his GreenTech initiative.

And yes, I recognize that the Gerrymander2 screen name is synonymous with anyone who identifies themselves as a name-calling weirdo cockblocker stooge rather than an educated debater of issues. Bet hey, that's what Fairfax Underground is all about.

Actually he hasn't been effective Gerrymanderer imposter. He just had to recuse himself from a case involving the Governor's Mansion's Chef being charged with 4 counts of embezzlement related to the illegal acquisition of state property with knowledge of the current Governors family.

Our Attorney General had to recuse himself because of his own personal ties to the Chef and Star Sci Inc which is also involved in the case.

So, no, an Attorney General needing to recuse himself from charges against individuals for embezzlement from the state is not a good sign. Actually, that's the worst sign one can get.

I know you think this is a winner, but actually all it does really is highlight McAuliffe's own "challenges" as far as this kind of thing goes.

The Star stuff looks like a kid's paper route compared to Terry's long and illustrious career of involvement in some seriously shady deals.

Every time your side tries to drag out Star, it just provides the other side an opportunity to point to all of the long list of sketchy deals in McAuliffe's past.

You'd be better off dropping that one and hoping that bs social scare tactics are enough to drag him over the line.

I'm sorry, Star Inc is nothing? Are you aware there is currently a pending FBI investigation in relation to it?

The State of Virginia has also pressed criminal charges of embezzlement against a Chef that was paid by Star Inc but the chef gave the refund amount to McDonnell's wife exposing gift disclosure violations.

let me repeat that, do you understand that Star Sci Inc. is currently the target of an FBI investigation in relation to it's dealings with Bob McDonnell and Ken Cuccinelli. And do you understand that there is also a state investigation and related embezzlement charges on four counts in process?

You call that nothing compared to the non sense about some car company that McAullife tried to start but failed in Mississippi?

You got nothing. The long arm of justice seems to be reaching out for your corrupt Republican politicians in Richmond. You can be as dismissive as you want but Bob McDonnell is knee deep in it and Kenny there was getting his palms greased with Vacations and boat trips and stock options by the same company.

Bobby was driving around Virginia in this guys Ferrari for Gods sake. How embarrassing. Get elected Governor and start driving around Ferrari's owned by people you give state money in loans to. It's fuckin disgusting. This story gets worse by the day and this guy says its nothing.

Sir, if nothing that's happened here matters to you then you are not a good citizen.

Still early, people don't know Ken Cuccinelli yet. You have to understand most people are uninformed. They know McAullife. Ken Cuccinelli is his own worst enemy. Primarily because he's a horrible candidate for our state. Give it time.

Compared to Terry's involvement in the Global Crossing scandal; the multiple International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers pension fund deals actually prosecuted by Justice (at least twice) where they lost all of their money and Terry walked away with millions with virtually no investment; his bank's shady "loans" to his former boss Gephart and his family's earlier failure in the savings and loan crisis; his bright idea to sell stays in the Lincoln bedroom for political favors, etc., etc. And, of course, his most recent sketchy funding via Chinese investors and visas for sale to fund an offshore company for his non-union vapor-car plant in MS, yes, it's not even small potatoes.

Terry's entire career and personal wealth has been built on shady pay-for-play deals. But if you want to continually highlight all of that, then go for it. Just further makes him look just like the slimeball politically benefited rich white guy he is.

And you have to understand that most of the votes for this race are coming from south of the Rappahannock and west of the Blue Ridge. McAuliffe doesn't have much of a following down there, and I suspect they are more familiar with Cuccinelli than you think.

You people are crazy for trying to get Ken Cuccinelli elected. Ken Cuccinelli is the most extreme politician in the country right now. I'd be careful putting such a loose cannon in Richmond. It may have a Bush affect for years to come. But, I'm pretty sure that once he opens that big mouth of his during the campaign. People will get to know that extremism and federal opposition in not what Virginia needs economically or socially for the next four years. You stupid fuckin Republicans are so damn harmful it's unbelievable and you only get worse when you lose elections because of it.

In the interest of full disclosure...

Last night The Washington Post released a new Virginia poll.

The paper reports: "Gov. Robert F. McDonnell remains firmly popular with Virginia voters, getting high marks from Independents, Democrats and Republicans......overall 64 percent of all registered voters say they approve of the job McDonnell (R) is doing, up six percentage points from two Post surveys last year."

The full poll results are incredible. In a time of deep political polarization and divide, Bob McDonnell gets high approval ratings, in a purple state, across the board.
• Independent voters approve of the Governor's job performance by a 2-1 margin (58 percent)
• So do 59 percent of African-Americans
• 58 percent of women
• 63 percent of young voters
• The Governor gets a 54 percent job-approval rating from self-described "liberals", 60 percent from "moderates" and 72 percent from conservatives.
• In Hampton Roads he has a 70 percent job approval rating; in Northern Virginia it's 61 percent!
• And even 54 percent of Virginia DEMOCRATS approve
You can read more about the poll here.

The Governor has gotten results, and Virginians have seen those results in their daily lives. Unemployment in the state is down to a four-year low at 5.3 percent, lowest in the Southeast and over 2 full points below the national average! The Governor got the first major transportation funding plan passed in Virginia in 27 years...when so many said it couldn't be done. And his reforms are improving our public schools and making college more affordable and accessible for Virginia students.

Please take a minute and pass this great poll on to your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. And thank you for all that you do, everyday, to make this a true "Commonwealth of Opportunity."

1. We are counting on the press not looking into Terry's offshore tax issues, the cash for visas scandal, the Global Crossing scandal, the multiple International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers pension fund deals actually prosecuted by Justice, the Gephart shady loan deal, his Lincoln bedroom fundraising attempts, and the failed electric car company.

2. Somehow Virginians will see the positive side of Terry's plot to headquarter his company in a Tysons closet, promise 1,500 jobs, build the factory in Mississippi, blame Virginia for not trying to bid for his factory, and then having it all exposed as a scam.

3. Call in the markers for all the fundraising. You will see Bill and Hillary Clinton and many other prominent Dems campaigning on his behalf.

4. Keep up the scare ads on abortion rights.

Tell me, what is it that Bob McDonnell has done to create jobs in Virginia? Bob McDonnell is a lost four years. He spent four years in office and concluded his office by raising taxes so he can claim he accomplished something.

Why do you think Bobby wanted this Transportation Tax Hike so bad? Because he doesn't have a single fuckin accomplishment to point to. You're jobs, housing price, recovering economy, infrastructure repair and expansion. You have Barack Obama to thank for that.

Bob McDonnell had one thing going for him though. He kept it civil. He wasn't confrontational to the Federal Gov't. Cuccinelli on the other hand is bound to be an anti-federal activist Governor, something Virginia cannot afford. This will have ramifications and costs. Both economically and fiscally. He will also greatly embarrass the state during his term.

I can see it all. I can tell you exactly what will happen. If he is elected, which I doubt because the man lives with a foot in his mouth, remember my predictions.

Poll: Virginia voters give thumbs-up to McDonnell

Posted by
CNN's Ashley Killough

(CNN) – Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell got some good news Monday after a new poll indicated the Republican governor's approval ratings remained high among voters in the commonwealth.

The numbers were released a week after the Washington Post reported the FBI was probing ties between the Republican governor and a top campaign donor who paid for catering at McDonnell's daughter's wedding.

According to a new Washington Post survey, McDonnell has high marks among independents, Democrats and Republicans. The poll was conducted last Monday through Thursday, just as the story over his relationship with the donor was breaking.

Acknowledging there was much he wanted to say but couldn't due to the ongoing investigation, McDonnell said last week in a radio interview there was "nothing going on at all at this time that impairs by ability to do a good job and serve the people of Virginia."

Sixty-four percent of all registered voters say they approve of the job the governor is doing, including 52% of Democrats. The 64% rating is six points up from two Post surveys last year.

Meanwhile, 59% of Virginians say McDonnell, who was elected in 2009, has "high personal moral and ethical standards," while 16% disagree and 25% are unsure.

McDonnell isn't running for re-election–Virginia governors cannot serve consecutive terms–but the numbers could be a positive sign for the state's GOP attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, who's running for McDonnell's spot this year.

The Washington Post released numbers over the weekend indicating Cucinelli had an early advantage over former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe. According to the survey, taken six months before Election Day, Cuccinelli is up 46%-41% over McAuliffe among all Virginia voters and 51%-41% among those who say they're certain to vote in November.

But the poll also notes that only 10% say they're following the campaign "very closely," while nearly half say they're undecided or could change their minds.

The Washington Post survey was conducted by telephone with 1,000 adults in Virginia, including 887 registered voters, from April 29 to May 2. The sampling error is plus or minus four percentage points.

Take it easy, wait, it's early. The Democrats are about to shove name recognition up your ass. You still got debates where Cuccinelli is gonna look like an extremist bumbling idiot. You got Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Bill Clintons stumps to witness. This is race will be a lone nationally televised and watching election. Kick back, relax and enjoy the show.

Uh, no... You're making the mistake of believing your own BS.

Cuccinelli doesn't come off in person as nearly as much of a nut case as you diehards try to paint him. Just as Romney wasn't in the first debate which helped him greatly in the polls.

An if you think that McAuliffe is going to look good on a debate stage, well, good luck with that. lol Have you ever actually watched Terry in a venue like that?

As above, McAuliffe is one of those guys where the more you know about him the less you tend to like him. That's why Cuccinelli's ads to date have simply been using Terry as his own worst enemy. McAuliffe is probably doing about as well as he ever will at this point.

I know Mitt Romney and Ken Cuccinelli is no Mitt Romney, although, when it comes to losing elections, that may hold true.

Um dude, McAuliffe couldn't even hold his own against Creigh Deeds within his own damn party that he headed. lol

Who then took 50% of the vote to his 26%, including NoVA and despite McAuliffe being far better funded. (And who then lost to McDonnell who got +58% of the vote.)

I rest my case.

Actually, that's not exactly true. I have not actually even shaken hands with any of the candidates. You see, they won't even let me work as a volunteer at the phone banks. Everywhere I go people make fun of me. Even anonymously on Fairfax Underground I am mocked. Why is the world so cruel to me?

Have you guys who throw around the abortion issue ever considered that Virginia has good abortion laws? Remember Kermit Gosnell, now serving three life terms because of his abortion procedures? The mom-to-be that he killed in 2009 was Karnamaya Mongar of Woodbridge. There is an abortion clinic in Woodbridge that could not perform the procedure because of state law. So she traveled up to Philadelphia to be killed along with her fetus.

Why anyone would travel to Philadelphia to get an abortion is beyond me. That whole crappy city is nothing but one big abortion.
