How to pay a day laborer to set up home network

Day laborer wants $45 to set up router, he will set up a wifi protected network in my house. Right now i have the standard cable going for my pc to the black cable box. Does that seem like a fair price? I already purchased the "router" he is simply going to install it and configure all my devices to connect to the network.

This is a pretty low price, although I'd question the wisdom of using a day laborer to do work of this type. I would charge you $85 an hour for this kind of work, but that's just me.

Look forward to your identity being stolen, bank accounts getting cleaned out and fraudulent charges on your credit cards. Day laborers are for small construction jobs and work that you don't want to do, not technical tasks that you can't do.

He seems like a decent person, I don't have my passwords saved on my PC so Im worried about that. He did electrical work pretty well and cheap, I just happened to mention the wifi router to himm and he said that would not be a problem to setup. It's 2013, I would imagine a day laborer in the IT capital could set up a home wifi network.

I wouldn't tell that to your insurance company if I were you.
Read the router's manual to set up your own network. It's not that difficult and nothing you will regret later. I don't need you to have passwords saved on your PC to ruin your life by remote control. Good luck.

Not a good idea irrespective of whether the person is a day laborer or not. The instructions for setting up a home network are straight-forward...easy. The information the person setting it up needs is valuable personal information that you should not be sharing with anyone, if you value your PII and home computer security, that is.

Took me 15 minutes to set up a wireless router. It's simple. Best wireless router to get is the AIRPORT EXTREME by Mac for the PC. Easiest damn setup EVER!!!

If I were looking for a day laborer to do my colonoscopy would it be best to pick one up in front of a CVS or Walgreens? I was not sure if the gathering locations for illegal labor was an indicator of the skill set.
If someone in the know could tell me, or have Sharon B. post the guidelines on the County website it would be handy for the citizens.

As for the OP, that is a bad idea. If he has the skills to set it up, he can leave himself a way to gain access to your network. Doesn't matter if you don't store passwords on your PC, you will still be very vulnerable to ID theft.
