Bailey's Crossroads

So, what is the "State of the Union" on the bailey's crossroads area? (specifically around culmore).

When do they plan to renovate that area? I know they aren't going to let those crappy apartments stand forever, are they? That would be a PRIME spot for some nice new condos since its right there at 7/columbia pike/etc!!!!

They are already run-down and in BAD need of repair- why not renovate/rebuild??? Vista gardens, old salem village, hill wood manor, parkwood....ALL of them need to be fixed!!! THey are all bedbug-ridden, roach infested, and they don't do repairs!!!

I grew up a few blocks from this area and wanted to come back...but was sad to see it is still the same today. :(

Any news about this area???

There are actually plans to build a town center From Skyline Mall to Route 7 soon. All those strip malls will be toast and we'll have nice high rises, restaurants, etc. It's supposed to be like Reston Town Center. It's already in the Fairfax General Plan, not sure if it has been funded yet but if it's in the plans that's a positive sign.

Unfortunately Culmore wasn't part of the plan.

Its just like in Alexandria, where they leveled the section 8 housing by first and second. Now there are "starting in the low 700 condos" going in there.
