I recently just lost my wallet and will need to get a new license from the DMV.. I heard you can get them online instead of going there. Regardless, has anyone lost their licenese and needed to get a new one from DMV? How does the process work?

You heard wrong. Since 9/11 if you "lose" your license you have to appear in person.

You'll need to bring in a fecal sample, DNA swab from your cheek and a current utility bill with your address on it.

They prefer that you use TWO ziploc bags to hold your fecal sample, because the DMV can be quite crowded and the air can sometimes become a little stagnant in there.

You need official birth certificate. If you don't have one they got a system that requires a few sheckles to get one.

Would not be a problem if you were an illegal alien spic.

Why is a birth certificate considered proof of identity? As long as the age, sex and race matches anyone can pose as anyone.

I'd recommend also getting a US Passport. Even if you never travel abroad it's a great backup document to have. Keep it in a protected place such as a safe-deposit box or a fire safe.

@Questioner - you'd have to ask DMV - it's not considered ID to everyone.

but I'd reckon it's because it's hard as hell to get somebody else's birth certificate.

In fact, the only time I've ever heard of any birth certificate scam in my lifetime, it was coming out of crackpot teabaggers mouths LoLz..............so I'm not too sure it's like a thing you can really do.
