Any turkey is fine from any store. Be careful when injecting or brining as you increase the liquid in the bird and can cause your fryer to overflow.

If you haven't bought yours by now good luck finding one small enough
to fit into a fryer. Bought mine two weeks ago and found a nice 15 pounder.
Went to Safeway yesterday and the smallest they had was 21 pounds.

No worries. Get a frozen one. Better taste when fryed coz they are flash frozen which seals in the flavor. Keep the turkey frozen until ready to use. Make sure you preheat the fryer. If you have a propane fryer keep it on high and dump the frozen bird in the hot oil. In about 45 minutes (for a 12lb turkey) you will have a great tasting Thansgiving Feast.
BTW, Wegmans Fairfax had a couple of fresh 12lb turkeys yesterday and everything else was over 20lbs, with most at 26 - 27lbs.

This would be exactly what you do nt want to do. The frozen water in the bird will expand and it will overflow your fryer and cause a major fire.

There's trolling, and then there's just plain out being a fucking asshole.
Imagine if someone googled "how to fry a turkey", saw that post, and proceeded to follow those directions? Someone WOULD get hurt, and they would be completely fucked over for the rest of their life.
It's one thing to make a joke, but to make a joke where someone could seriously be killed is not "trolling" at all.

My brother searched about deep frying a turkey and somehow wound up getting information from this site about deep frying a frozen turkey. His deck and house caught on fire! Luckily everyone got out okay, but his house is a total loss.
