Republican Party Abandons Christie\Rush Calls Christie a Traitor

http://www.businessinsider.com/rush-limbaugh-christie-obama-greek-column-chris-election-2012-11

Count radio host Rush Limbaugh as a conservative who wasn't too happy with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's welcoming of President Barack Obama to his state on Wednesday. Limbaugh ripped Christie, calling him a "Greek column" for the Obama re-election campaign on his show Wednesday. (There's that good photoshop from the Limbaugh site, too.)

Here's Rush:
"New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has decided to play the role of a Greek column today for President Obama. Obama and Chris Christie will tour the Jersey shore. Who lives on the shoreline, Snerdley? That's exactly right. The one percent live on the beach. It isn't cheap, Rachel. I don't know if you know this or not. It isn't cheap to live on the beach anywhere. Well, there are a couple places, but, I mean, for the most part.

President Obama and the Greek column, Chris Christie, will be walking the coastline, viewing properties owned by the one-percenters, to whom Barack Obama has said, "You didn't build that. You didn't make that happen."
Two theories on what this means: One is that it's a reference to Obama's 2008 speech at the Democratic National Convention, for which the backdrop was "four imposing Doric columns and 10 sizable pilasters, all connected by a frieze and arranged in a gently curving arc."

Christie did seem to go a little over the top in fawning over the president. It's understandable I guess with Christie trying to get money, but their joint news conference after the coastline tour was almost laughable. Christie couldn't go more than two sentences without thanking President Obama or commending him for his promises of assistance and support. The president had to be laughing at Christie for being his bitch.

Sorry but his beloved state and fellow New Jersey citizens and their property are much more important to than some rich asshole hedge fund manager/ out sourcing extraordinaire. Romney is the only industry where you put the absolute most brutally worst of banking and outsourcing together. This guy is literally all that is wrong with America lmao. And the Republicans nominate him during difficult economic times as a result. So what does Christie do, he says I don't give a rats ass about this piece of shit the Republican elite has beens like Karl Rove and Rupert Murdoch tapped. I got work to do. Fuck you and Mitt Romney.

Of course any Governor whose state has been through a disaster is going to align himself with the President. The President can marshal federal assistance from FEMA, the Coast Guard, etc. Romney is just an unemployed rich guy. The only assistance Romney can deliver is from his own Swiss bank account or Bain. LOL

My thoughts exactly.

I don't care if the storm impacted democratic or republican supporters, as far as I'm concerned - its impacted America. Anyone trying to turn this into a political issue is a douche.

My oh my. And here Gov. Christie was the keynote speaker at your convention, earstwhile attack surrogate for Mittens, and quite possibly your next candidate for the presidency in 2016. In that speech Gov. Christie said (speaking about his mother):

And I am still her son today as governor, following the
rules she taught me, to speak from the heart, and to fight for
your principles. You see, mom never thought you would get extra
credit just for speaking the truth.

Now that is exactly what he is doing. We have friends who live in Toms River, NJ. New Jersey is utterly devastated. Christie is doing his job, looking after the welfare of the people he was elected to serve. And obviously that oath is more important to him than politics. You should be proud to have such a man as a leader in your party. Instead, you vilify him.

The Republican party, though I almost never agree with its positions, was at least honorable once. Now, it is nothing more than a cesspool of vapid slogans, self-serving interests, and frightened white people angry that there is a black man in the White House who is smarter and more accomplished than they.

I'm a democrat and Christie saying "I don't give damn about the election and anybody who thinks I do doesn't know me."

Yeah that makes me think Christie might get my vote if he runs in 2016.

It was VERY refreshing hearing Chris Christie speak like a citizen concerned about his fellow citizens and giving honest praise where it was warranted in regards to the President.

I too gained some respect for Christie after this because it shows where his heart is truly at and it's in the right place, with the people of New Jersey.

I think both Chris Christie and President Barack Obama have acted in good faith and very admirably in doing whatever they can to help Americans who are truly suffering and in the worst kind of need.

Fuck Rush Limbaugh right in his pill popping ass. He is, was and will always be a piece of shit.

I also can't wait to see Mittens Romney lose this election as he is the worst type of person. A liar and exploiter of his fellow Americans. A flip flop artist extraordinare not to mention a draft dodging slime-ball who supported the war in Vietnam while at the same time refusing to fight in that war. I guess he's just too good for manual labor or fighting for something he believes in.

I hope Mitt Romney's defeat in the 2012 election also effectively turns Paul Ryan into a political leper. The type of political figure nobody wants to touch with a 10 foot pole.

I'm sick and tired of having to fight to pull the knuckle dragging Neanderthals by force out of the 1950s and into the present.

Typical republican bitterness on Christie. Christie does something right and republicans want to piss all over him because it happens to also involve Obama.

What most kumbaya girl scouts here don't realize is that if this election is won by Obama the US will not be the same for many decades. Obama will stack the supreme court with liberal justices. And guess who's running in 2016? Thats right the queen bee- Hillary. The liberals are planning on holding on to the white house for 12 more years. And they may. Think the last 4 years have been scary? Just wait. Conservatives don't need to be throwing ANY bones to Obama a week before a completely tied up race. Christie can easily work with the feds without french kissing Obama and telling the world how hot he is for him. This is a huge blunder... and it will come back to bite Christie, the GOP, and the country.. for many decades. Sandy was a big enough blow job, Christie... no need to give the president another one.

Unless your wrong, and Christie is just throwing Romnmey under the bus now....anticipating an Obama win and opening the door for Christie to run in 2016.

BTW, Bush was in office for 8 years, and the country definitly has not been the same nor will be for a long time as we struggle to pay the debt he initiated and accumulated.

Christie could have the golden arches open up for him in 2016 and he'll still get his ass wiped by Hillary. A bitter fat dude running against a former secretary of state who's last name happens to be Clinton? What stone have you been sleeping under?
We need a republican NOW to take responsibility, get businesses hiring, and put this country back on track. That is the only way to stop this socialist movement that is destroying our nation.

I guess if the republicans know how to derail the train, they should be able to get it back on the tracks, as well.

The train was derailed by Dems who ordered banks to give out mortgages to folks who could not afford them. Do your homework. When the fed manipulates the free market bad things happen.

C'mon people. Can't you see slick, self serving political moves when they're thrown in your face? New Jersey's desperate need for aid would have been addressed whether Chris Christie provided Obama with this potentially game changing photo opportunity/endorsement or not. With the national media coverage of this devastating disaster it would have been virtually IMPOSSIBLE for Obama to ignore this situation & not step in regardless. Christie could have graciously accepted Obama's offers of assistance, thanked him and then moved on to the tasks at hand. While I would like to believe that both men's actions were pure & done purely for the sake and best interest of mankind; I do not. Call me jaded if you'd like but the unfortunate truth is that politicians are out for one thing only. Themselves. I am a New Yorker and I am truly heartbroken by the mass destruction and suffering all of us in the TrI-state are experiencing. The loss is incomprehensible and I want nothing more than for all of the victims of Sandy to receive all the assistance they need to begin rebuilding their lives. However, before one starts blindly heaping humanitarian praise on Chris Christie, let's remember these facts:
- Christie is a Republican Govenor in a Democratic state.
- Christie is up for re-election in 2013.
- Christie has aspirations for a White House bid. If Romney wins, such hopes are dashed for 2016.
- Christie showed blatant disregard for his own party with showboating photo opportunities when a simple plea would have sufficed to ensure desperately need help.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg denied Obama's request to tour the city & yet they are receiving assistance. Christie could have opted to do the same. I pray for all who have been affected by this terrible tragedy and hope that this political hypocritical nonsense will be exposed for what it truly is.

As much as I disagree with Christie on many policy issues, he put his constituent's (all of them) well being and interests first. This is more than what our raw sewage of a Governor does. It seems when the chips are down, you find out how you can rely on and who is all blather. Christie has a lot of blather, but his state apparently can count on him. That counts for something in the real world

Even as a conservative, I laugh if anyone takes Rush seriously. He's an entertainer. That's it. Christie was looking out for his state, and probably his future endeavors. But really, considering the damage, he's in it to show his willingness to do whatever politically possible at a time of disaster, just like any other politician.
