The difference used to be big enough that I would make a point to go there to shop and grab gas while in town, but the last time I checked a couple of weeks ago the difference was usually about 5 cents from what I can get locally. Time and expense to drive there isn't worth making a special trip, but I top off if I happen to be there.

Ive seen the same thing. looks like manassass has gotten wise.

The further down PW parkway or 234 you go, the cheaper. But wonce you get to woodbridge it goes back up

I believe manassas is lacking some municipal tax for gas and that's what makes it a tad cheaper.

It's actually 12 cents cheaper.

I would guess that commercial property values may have something to do with it, too. How much commercial-zoned property per resident is there in Manassas? Is it cheaper? If so, they probably pay less mortgage/rent to own the gas station lot, which might allow them to drop prices a bit compared to Fairfax. Just a guess, but it's not uncommon for gas to be more expensive in places where it's more expensive to own a gas station!

It's called zone pricing.
