Big Explosions

I heard several big explosions aroud the Fairfax Station area late this afternoon and again in the evening. The first one was around 4:30 PM. Sounded like a power transformer overloading. Then, it happeneded again around 8:00 PM. First there were four in a row at 2 minute intervals. After a 20 minute lull, there were three more. Too loud for gunshots or even fireworks.
