Fairfax Honda Arrogance

So we wanted some warranty work done, but the car is slightly out of warranty. An independent shop has been doing a great job keeping up on scheduled maintenance and we had all the documentation citing the problem existed prior to the expiration. Our bad for not dealing with it in a timely way. The shop suggested seeing if the dealer would give us an accommodation. The dealer did, to the tune of roughly half price, but the service manager stated that he was "doing us a favor" seeing as we never took the car there for service (we never use the dealer service because they are a rip off). To top it off we paid the dealer $109 to "assess" the matter, with the understanding that the amount would be applied to the repair bill. Instead, the service manager refused to apply it. So I told him off but good - Brooklyn expletives and all, and hung up. I'll have the repairs made by my independent shop, who I trust and have been using for 25+ years. It'll cost me double, but I'll be damned if I am going to give that miserable wretch of a dealer one cent of my hard earned money. Screw him. I've owned 3 Hondas. No more, not even a frigging lawnmower. From now on, it's BUY AMERICAN!

The car is out of warranty and you have no relationship with the dealer, yet you are upset when they do you a favor by knocking off half price? They didn't have to reduce the price at all. You should have graciously accepted the deal.

You're sense of entitlement is out of this world. You want something (free repairs for an out of warranty car) for nothing. Your customer loyalty is with the independent shop and not the dealer. Had you serviced your car at the dealership they most likely would have covered the repairs under warranty.

I've had two Acuras. Both were serviced at the dealership. The first car experienced issues shortly after the car was out of warranty. The dealership made an exception and treated the car as if it was still under warranty because I was a loyal customer.

Your customer loyalty is with the independent shop. You should be looking to them to provide you a deal for consistently bringing your car there for servicing.

I don't fault you for going to the independent dealer to save on costs. I choose to pay a little more at the dealer to avoid the very situation you described above. However, I do think your anger is misplaced.

You had a warranty and chose not to use it. You should go fuck yourself.

Dealers do a lot of bad things. This one did you a big favor. Be a grown up and get your car fixed when problem come up.

You never spent a dime at the Dealership, any dealer or any repair facility for that matter is not going to give you anything for free especially when its out of warranty and when YOU HAVE NEVER SPENT A DIME WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. Also just because you have documention showing a complaint under warranty was "present," but was never duplicated. That doesn't mean that when the car is out of warranty, that that complaint if duplicated, be repaired under any warranty. Your warranty is over, it's a wrap. Any car manufacture, and dealership will do the same Fairfax did, inclduing "American" auto makers. My suggestion, if you want the dealer to address things under warranty, because they don't have to unless it's safety related at all. Car manufactures do not want things unsold under warranty, or parts replaced under warranty when they are not defective. In saying that start spending money with service departments.

To top it off we paid the dealer $109 to "assess" the matter.

excuse me. sit around wating for work. people come in and want me to write up an assessment i'm responsible for, while they wait and are impatient, but they dont' want to pay a thing. they then get the work done using another mechinic or even another shop: i'm responsible but get no work i'm double fucked.

if they do buy the work i'm responsible that what i wrote down fixes it. if i'm wrong a few times i end up getting fired. i have to pay if i'm wrong.

yup that's what i do.

for free i sweat to chase down problems without having the luxury of time or money to get it right while people bitch at me. i have to take a few luck guesses and know allot to do it.

and yet? that's often what i did because the boss was stealing from me: and if i didn't i was fired. and they stole most of my va inspection too. and etc. and often had em do "warranty work" (1/2 pay) and paid less than min wage too.

thanks fairfax city / county ! love your legal support of working people !!

and i have to do this while foreigners are trying to steal my tools. i reported one stolend $350. police never found it. turn my back for a damn second.

screw you all. see the lawsuit.

and don't bother to leave your car so the mechanic has time or anything. just walk right in, insist you are short on time, and yell at everyone your car isn't diagnosed for free fast enough.

Don’t trust anybody that doesn’t eat bacon and oppresses women and thinks it’s OK to sleep with young boys
