Mosby Woods Name Change
Date: June 18, 2020 09:38PM

Continuing with the normalization of all things.... It's time to change the name of the Mosby Woods Subdivision name in the City of Fairfax.

It's based on a Confederate who championed the ways of the South

Have you read history on John Mosby? If you do. You will realize that he was part of Abe Lincoln's presidential "party". Meaning he left the confederacy and joined the union. Taking his the name off of things and replacing it with a black persons name from history is keeping the process of "racism" to keep continuing on and on. Sometimes silence is the best policy.

Mosby didn't "leave the Confederacy and join the Union". Mosby served the Confederacy right up to the end of the war. It was only after the war that Mosby joined the Republican party. It is possible this had to do with Grant, as Grant had issued Mosby a safe conduct to stop Mosby from being harassed by Union occupation troops. Mosby's support for the Republican party got him a series of government jobs. While in California he befriended a small boy, the future George S. Patton.
