These investigations may lead to nothing conclusive other than some eager overselling by Tom and the unrealistic expectations for customers that are impossible to please thinking that Old cars can be exhumed and magically become Factory Fresh turn key after forty years.

The authorities most likely will discover no fraud or criminal activity was the case here with Tom and Bub. Unhappy customers will have to pursue civil cases to recoup any monetary loses or just let it go and put it behind them.

Bottom line is that Bubba and Tom will continue to Prosper at their Hot Rod Shops in both Lucrative Jupiter and with their daughter/sister here at the Fairfax Shop.

Tom and Bub will go on to their Reality TV Careers which seems to be taking off right now.

Sometimes bad people get jealous and green with envy of other folks successes and just cannot see and accept their good deeds and hard work rewarded,

To actually think that the classic car community in northern Virginia, honest hardworking people, are envious of them and their stellar business model.....There success on velocity is doubtful. Last I heard, Lloyd's Daughter was the new Manager here at the FairFax Hot Rod Shop when Rob got fired after he was caught stealing and cooking the books by Tom.

To start off with I would like to say thank you for your refreshing and objective posts.

However, please allow me to address one item.

To the dismay of many, Bubba is very much a STAR and his TV show is NOT limited simply to the Fairfax and Jupiter FLA local areas. Bubbas TV show won the Silver TELLY for 2009 giving it top honors which is on display here in our lobby in Jupiter. With a verified 11 million weekly viewers, Hot Rod Reality was just introduced in 55 of 72 counties in Pennsylvania AND 3 counties in Los Angeles, Ca. which should bring him into the neighborhood of approximately 15 million weekly viewers!

Additionally, he was just moved from a 12:30pm Sunday prime time slot to 5 nights a week during prime time in preparation for and pre promotion of a major network deal with Ted Vernon and the Velocity Channel that was recently struck. His technical Auto Crafting and Fabricating work is featured in MANY industry magazines and he was just featured on CBS AND several other newspapers this last 6 weeks! Nobody down here in Jupiter cares or is aware of any pending criminal case against Tom and Bub. Life goes on and their repair business remains firm and lively. We have a pretty cool place to hang out there with these guys inside their "VIP Lounge" inside the offices of the Hot Rod and Custom shop and they treat us pretty damn well too. My recommendation is that you try an alternative style. Bubbas style was not much of a success. You were located in the center of 6 of the 10 wealthiest counties in the nation....lots of disposable income.....could not make it work. It's funny how you say it's a pleasure doing business with Tom and Bubba but in the same post mention everyone is invited to "our" VIP lounge and come visit us.


It's sad when you have to pretend to be a customer to give yourself a good review. Also where's all the pics of Bert and Bucky at your shop....I mean the frequent there all the time right?

Took my car in to Bubba's back in 2008 to have some work done. Was told three weeks, no problem! Three months later, I finally get fed up and go to pick up the car. They had done what I asked, but the work was amateur at best. Ended up going to three other shops to get my ride De-Bubbafied and never went back.
I know at least 5-10 other guys that have had their cars mangled in one way or another from that automotive butcher shop.
Tom was pleasant to deal with, but like has already been said, he's an excellent bullshitter. I thought Bubba was ok too, but definitely nowhere near the league they portrayed him to be in.

Every now and again the customer will have a negative experience but with our experience few and far in between. Maybe due to Bubs not being able to "touch" every vehicle in the que due to unbelievable demand for their services. Whatever the case we simply cannot please each and every customer.

Overall the projects are the best in the business when done properly Bubbas Style.

Why so sad? These guys are award winning Builders and they had a pretty good run here in Fairfax with a whole lot of ups and downs until they were overcome by too many mistakes and perhaps some border line illegal activities.

Remarkably they survived long enough to transplant their whole Hot Rod and Custom Operations down in Lucrative Jupiter Florida and are now busy like gang busters. Looks like they have ultimately found their niche in the Sunshine State and continue with their Reality TV Shows, radio shows and rubbing elbows with the VIP and celebrities down there in the VIP Lounge. There is just ONE legal case ongoing here in Fairfax and the authorities have been unable to discover anything was done with the intention to defraud anyone. The paper trail at Bubbas held up very well to scrutiny and they plan to leave it at that so what ever happened here in Fairfax is behind us.

Their Restoration and Custom shop in Jupiter rolls along and business in the Sunshine State is very good so let it go at that!

That you cannot refute or in someway give this awesome accomplishment by Father and Son team Tom and Bubba a negative spin. They are truly Giants in the company of Giants and Legends and are without a doubt one of the best father and son teams in the Auto Craftsmanship Industry.

They truly are Rock Stars in the Classic, Vintage, Custom, and Exotic car, Truck and Motorcycle Industry but now operating out of Sunny paradise Jupiter Florida in their State of the Art Facility, VIP lounge, and Production Studio!

Interesting although the word that came back to me up here in Fairfax from that particular TBird Build for South Beach Classics was that Ted is extremely afflicted with the Hard stuff and was anything but sober whenever the Velocity cameras were rolling during the show. From what I could tell, having to deal with his controlling wife is why he stays "In the grip of Liquor" so to say. Just a matter of time until he blows a gasket while on the air and his days are numbered with the Velocity Channel. You heard it here first!

How is Tom doing after his felony arrest?

Where on Earth did you dig up that Old musty news? Hard to fully please 100% of the most finicky customers in our Vintage Classic car Restoration Business. From what I know, this particular isolated occurrence was a most unfortunate misunderstanding and Tom was found Innocent of any wrong doing and fully compensated the offending customer for their loss and any inconvenience so Enough said on the subject!

The court should not force you to payback money you owe to someone. They should have done that on their own. It sounds like really poor customer service on their part from what you are saying. Are they still in business in Fairfax? Why can I not find a business website for Bubba's when I do a simple Google search? My dog sitter has their own website that is easy to find and they only do it as a limited part time business. When I search Troy Ladd, Boyd Coddington or Chip Foose I find a professional business website. When I search Bubba's East Coast I find a bunch of ramblings on Fairfax Underground from someone affiliated with the company, I hear nothing but talk about an award from 2009 that is for a show, and Tom Lloyd's mug shot from his felony arrest. They should focus on improving their fabrication and customer service skills vs. responding to a local blog in a City they used to business in. They seem to be worried about a lot of things instead of being focused on turning out rods. Whoever is trying to build their brand is failing.

Winning an award from the local Fairfax CoC of which you were an active member of is so small time but bragging about it is clown shoes. Hotrodders focus on having the meanest cars on the streets. Bubba's is all about bragging about awards that have nothing to do with building cars. Their claim to fame is a indie tv award that nobody has ever heard about except after googling it once it is bragged about. Start building cars that aren't something that any installer could do and you will get some respect in the industry.

Bottom line Bubba and Tom are still in a thriving Business down here in Lovely paradise Jupiter Florida. The facility is State of the Art! Visit their website as they are insanely busy working on many many sik projects vintage and super cars and exotics for a better class of clientele including several celebrities and sports legends. In addition, they have been actively involved with the Velocity Channel joining Ted Vernon's South Beach Classics. All of this should speak for itself!
