Special Meeting Scheduled for 8/16

The City of Fairfax City Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. August 16 in the City Hall Annex, Room 100, to receive public comment, and to discuss and consider a date of a special election for the purpose of filling the position of Interim Mayor.

From City Website:

The City Council anticipates that, at this meeting, it will approve a date for the special election.

There also will be a closed meeting to discuss the possible appointment of an interim mayor.

Following the conclusion of the closed meeting, the City Council will discuss the possible appointment of an interim mayor.

Mayor R. Scott Silverthorne resigned the office of Mayor of the City of Fairfax effective noon Thursday, August 11.

City Hall is located at 10455 Armstrong Street, Fairfax, VA 22030.
