!! PLEASE HELP !!
Date: April 25, 2015 10:37AM

If anyone in Chantilly, Vienna, Centerville, Oakton, Dunn Loring/Merrifield, Falls Church, or Annandale can has available space, PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP. If you are unable to, then if you know anyone who may be able to help, please give them my contact info (listed below). I turned eighteen little over a month and a half ago, I am still enrolled in high school, and I am unemployed as of posting this. All I ask is for a place to stay until I can get a source of income that is consistent, as well as one that's high enough to pay shared/fixed expenses or until I can find somewhere else. If you have any other questions of relevance, please do not hesitate to ask upon contacting me.

Always,
N. Esquela

So sorry to hear about your problem; I wish I could help, but I can't provide you a place. I can hardly support myself on my social security check. Check out the services in the FFX Co. Heritage building on Little River Tpk. in Annandale. Family Services can get you food stamps, skillsource can help you fnd a job, and the wellness center there provides free lunch for the poor and mentally ill M-Th. St. Matthews Methodist Church a few blocks out the pike will give you a bag of food if you show up at 10 am M,W, or F. The Lamb Center at Fairfax Circle provides breakfast and lunch for the poor and homeless plus many other services. Also check out Facets over near the jail. They will assign you a social worker to help you find housing. When you find a place to live and need to fill the pantry and refrig the Lamb Center can give you a voucher for a carload of food from Food For Others on Prosperity.Another source for a lot of food is the Community of Faith (Methodist) food bank along the parkway at Franklin Farm. Take a car with lots of space and plan to wait in line two hours, but it's worth it, Tuesdays 5 pm. Catholic Charities at Christ House on West St. in Old Town Alexandria can be helpful but call and see when they take walk-ins. The Catholic churches collectively also support the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Vienna. Call their helpline.

I presume you are about to graduate this week, and I hope your situation has improved. If not, let me add to my previous message. The clothing closet at Fairfax Pres Church, run by FISH, is open at 9;30 a m on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you ask, they may also be able to give you dog food and people food too. Another good clothing closet is McLean Bible Church at 5 pm on Thursdays, but the line is long plus you have to sit thru their short bilingual church service first. Also, Grace Ministries at St. Stephens Methodist on Braddock Rd. has a big breakfast and giveaway for the poor once each month. Get there early or the good stuff will be gone. The Lamb Center has a small selection of used clothing. They're good people to know when you're down on your luck. You can shower there, wash and iron your clothes free, get deodorant and toothpaste and toothbrush, a hair cut, a storage locker, transportation (sometimes), two good meals a day Mon-Sat, an address to receive your mail, and the services of their social worker. They also offer Bible study and AA meetings. Across the street in thr Home Depot parking lot the Facets food truck delivers dinner at 6 pm to the homeless people who gather there seven nights a week 365 days a year.
If you have a substance abuse problem, the CSB (Fx Co. and Falls Church Community Services Board) has a new building near Fairfax Hospital. You just walk in any weekday and they will do an intake and put you in a program.
