Wegmans customers

I work at Wegmans, and I'm very curious about the phenomenon of how people around here shop.
They can be behind me, or at a distance out of my line of sight, and all they'll do when they want to find something is name the product at me. How am I supposed to know they're talking to me? How am I supposed to know it's a question? Unfortunately, I usually do. But it's messed up.
Why do they want to park their carts in the entrance to the aisle so that nobody else can get in?
Why do they park on one side of the stuff I'm working on (usually dead-center) and then shop on the other side, effectively blocking the whole aisle?
Why do they see two sides to go down and always choose the side I'm standing on, forcing me to move? When they do that, usually they don't buy anything from the aisle or else want to shop way farther down where it doesn't matter which side they picked.
I don't know, it's just freaking weird. I'm tired of it and seriously seeking alternative employment. What a bunch of idiots.
