How do we strengthen Eelgrass in the Chesapeake Bay while improving Shell Fish Husbrandry in estruaries and coastal zones for waterman farmers ? (In Virginia, most of the 25 or so such waterman farmers do this par-time activity with hopes to expand to full time if and when they can)

Question: Who is Mid-Atlatnic Regional Council On The Oceans (MARCO)


Short Answer: Management Board consists of 5 State Coastal Management Agencies (In Virginia, it's DEQ). To work toward Regional cooperation to improve coastal resources, particularly water quality , to protect and strengthen coasal resources including the Shell Fish Waterman/Farmers and Fin Fish for sports and comercial fishing.

There is a separate dept at Virginia DEQ, called Coastal Zone Management that you can get further details as to what is happening and what you and I, our families can do to contribute and benefit from work of MARCO and Virgnia DEQ Coaastal Zone Managment.
