Trump is down 6.5% in the RCP poll of polls. That is a fact. Of course, the only poll they use for this current calculation that is less than 5 days is Rasmussen. Trump's favorite poll. And he is down 13 points in that one.

The only thing that has happened over the last five days that would have any effect is the fact that thousands have died from a virus that Trump promised would miraculously disappear. So maybe Rasmussen is an outlier. Or maybe it is the trend. We'll see over the next few days.

His Rasmussen, that is. You know, the poll Trump tweets about occasionally. He is now up in net approval to minus 11 points.

But they are highly relevant. Rasmussen, while questionable in some ways, is Trump's favorite poll. He tweets about it regularly (well, not so much these days). He would not have done that if he did not find the poll to be extremely credible. So, it is fair to say, the Rasmussen poll has Trump's personal stamp of approval.

So, what we have is a situation where Trump is in the toilet, and the proof is only poll that Trump considers credible. The one Trump trusts enough to tweet about. That is why this poll is important, and why I post about it. Because Trump believes this poll enough to tweet about it.

Goes a long way towards explaining why Trump has been in such a bitchy, pissy mood at the pressers lately.

To repeat, Trump loves this poll. And he is tanking in it. If necessary, I can try explaining in simpler terms.

Trump's Rasmussen numbers are the lowest since at least December of 2017. You would think with the reopening, his skillful handling of the Floyd matter and his top notch performance at that governing thing he would be doing better. If I were Trump, with an election coming up, these numbers would concern me.

It is true that the polls showed Hillary winning in 2016. By about 2% points. Which is roughly the final margin of her popular vote advantage. What the polls did not contemplate was that a candidate could receive substantially more votes than her opponent, but still lose. That kind of logic defies mathematical analysis.

Only 55% of Americans, according to Trump's favorite poll, disapprove of him, as opposed to 56% yesterday. MAGA is breaking out all over
