Did anyone here play in Arlington little league or the football league in the 70's? Played on FOP and two season with the Black Knights in baseball. In football played on the Bearcats, which won back to back County titles in the 75lb class.

Small world ... I played for Washington Police Boys Clubs #4 and #11. We played the "Arlington Black Knights" in football -- 100 pound I think it was. We went unbeaten two years in a row but I rmember coming to Yorktown HS and we barely escaped with a 7-0 win. It was the toughest team we played by far; I still remember since our kids ironically then both ended up playing for Yorktown. Hope you connect with some buds here.
I was a coach in the late 70's and early 80's for the Black Knight baseball teams at various age levels. Both my sons also played for the Knights for years.
I played on the Black Knights 120lbs and 130lbs in 1969, 1970 & 1971...we were undefeated in league play for three straight years. Our toughest games were almost always against the Bearcats. However, we did have a few close ones against the Cubs and the Hawks.

He was caught anally raping a young boy in a McDonald's bathroom, arrested, convicted, and now doing time.
Or it could have been a BK bathroom, I forget the details.
I played for the Black Knights 1964-1966...75, 80 and 90 lb. Head coach was Mr. McKay and asst. was Mr. Lilly. Won title every year. Last season we scored 161 pts and gave up 6. I still have yearbook. Toughest opponent was the Annandale Bulldogs. Ed Hunter coached the bigger guys at 120 as I remember (my brother played for him). I played tight end, defensive end, punter and kicker. My teammates were a really tough bunch! Sure wish I could see some of them again.
I played for the BK in the 70's coach Hanna 70lbs Coach McKenny 120 Coach Hunter 130 lbs the Bearcats were tough all right It was one of the best parts of my life Coach Kay came back to help out with 130lbs

I played for Coach Kay 80lbs in 1970. I was a teammate of Gene "Bull" Maestas who posted above in 2014. In fact, he and I were next door neighbors in Fairlington. I also played football at Gunston Jr. High.

Just for the record, back in November of 1971 the 130 lbs Black Knights Football Team defeated in a post-season game against the heavily favored 140 lbs Vienna Raiders 13-6 in Vienna to earn the first annual "Punch Bowl" title. Also, the very next week the same Black Knights team defeated 140 lbs Springfield Indians 16-0 to win the Harvest Bowl trophy ending their undefeated season 12-0...truly remarkable as well as arguably the best team in the state that year.
THIS WAS 1982 FOR THE BLACK KNIGHTS. I PITCHED AND PLAYED FIRST BASE AND WE DESTROYED EVERYONE. IN B LEAGUE I PLAYED FOR THE FIRST VA BANK CUBS. WE BEAT OPTIMIST FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1986. WE WERE AND ARE THE REASON THEY MADE BARCROFT PARK HOW IT IS NOW.
I played for the Annandale bulldogs football in the 70's. Always the big game was against the Black Knights. It was always the game of the year we all got so fired up for that one. I remember playing in the All-Star games. Myself and the kid from the black knights were the running backs of course it was a huge blowout for us but so much fun!

I played for the Cubs in football in '74-'78. Went from 80 lbs "B" in 5th grade to 80 lbs "A" in 6th, 100lbs in 7th, then I think the last was 120 lbs (maybe 150 just don't remember. Played for Coaches Mosely, Hale, Mosacci, Erdossy. Then move to Vienna and played for Madison HS for all 4 years graduating in '82.
