An IQ of 140 is present in about 1 out of 160 individuals. Try this calculator if you don't believe it -

TJ skims off a significant percentage of the >=140s in NoVa, but if you take National Merit Semifinalists(1 out of 200 by State) as a reasonable proxy for >=140, while TJ skims about 150/year, in total, the other HSes have about 60/year.
That is, the other HSes average about 3 per grade or 12 per HS.
