He was very well liked and great to work for. Valued talent and competency over seniority and complacency, so there were some bitter employees who felt like they weren't getting what was "owed" to them. Also there are a lot of people coming out of the woodwork now who are just enjoying the drama. This whole situation sucks a lot for West Potomac. The kids don't deserve to deal with the consequences of the bad decisions of adults.

From I believe Fox and USA, the videos(google them) but I think the networks would also have to get documentation from students (who are of age) saying that they are ok with their comments being publicized. However, its hard to believe that only those students were available to interview.

Yes, I did watch the broadcast the evening it was released. The statements above seem accurate--no students of color. I'm sorry that you are uncomfortable with statements related to race. However, perspectives from the populations that represent the demographics of a said place typically do provide a more fair and balanced perspective of people, places, and things.

Actually the Fox article above says they spent $6500 on two trips. They were approved for a combined $5000 more for a trip they never got to take.

**They typically ignore the GSA per diem rates for hotels. They just get approval and go. Nobody cares. What you need to evaluate the claims for-

Claiming meal per diem for days not traveled (seriously-a bunch have done this-when the plane brings you home on Saturday you don't get per diem for Sunday-vice versa when you go out a day early it isn't the county's problem)
Claiming per diem when there are meals served with the conference
Upgrading plane seats
Parking in hourly lot vs economy lot at the airport
Using really bad judgment on selecting ticket prices
Upgraded hotel rooms
Buying room service for the traveler and their spouse and not getting the personal vs private bill straight and turning in a really messed up travel claim that didn't get caught until a citizen pointed it out ( hello Dr. Garza)
Taking a large group off of per diem on a trip and taking the county charge card and going to a swanky expensive restaurant, even putting the bills for spouses on the county credit card and then luckily being paid back later for the spouses (hello School Board-was it fun? We paid for this)

And the clincher-

What the Hell are they getting out of this conference that justifies the expense? (You will never be able to figure this out.)

The travel nonsense is such speculation. I went to a conference a few months back and opened up the bottle of water in my room thinking it was complimentary; it wasn't. I had to write the County a check for $4.00 before I could be reimbursed for my other expenses. If they can't pay for a bottle of water, there's no way they're knowingly letting the costs listed above slide.

The travel claims were posted on another thread.There were some county employees who had to do some reimbursements and Dr. Garza had some explaining to do.

Why didn't you pay the hotel directly for the water? Did you not look at the hotel bill until you got home? Did you turn the claim in with that on there and somebody picked it up?

As for the term "knowingly letting the costs slide", they should not have had to be told by a citizen that something was really wrong with those claims. Somebody is supposed to be monitoring those claims and they were just plain blind or did not give a hoot about their job.

I have seen teachers fired for a lot less. FCPS has been losing teachers like mad. There is a thread about where did all the good FCPS teachers gone....they are all getting out because of crap like this and gatehouse will destroy them.Gatehouse is great at that.

They are on administrative PAID leave. That is my tax dollars paying for them to find another job. NOT!!!! You are free to make choices you are not free from the consequence!

I believe in the case of Case (no pun intended) the correct verb is "was" as he resigned a little over a week ago. Not sure of Lyttle's current status.

Is it true mr Ewing got sent here because he got in trouble?
