Cantina D'italia. Excellent Italian food in a quaint atmosphere for reasonable prices. Has the fancy restaurant feel but their entrees are less than $10. In Fair Lakes (with Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and just about everything else) near the Kids World (former Toys R' Us) and Radio Shack. Excellent place for a romantic date. The waiters are all older Italian men, not kids.

Hey d.lee, I moved your thread out of western fairfax to general. I agree that Pad Thai is probably the best. My office orders from them all the time. Get the Pad Pik, you won't be disappointed. Other than Pad Thai, Crystal Thai in Arlington is excellent, but feels much more Americanized (and they don't deliver).

Yeah I hear there was on rt 29 and ANOTHER on Stringfellow tonight. Legally, they have to give 24 hours notice in a newspaper or on their daily incident report website at http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/ps/police/reports/news.htm They do not have to report which street the checkpoint is being performed on, merely the general location (usually precinct). I saw no such notification tonight in any form
