They raised about $350K last year. Sure, it's not millions, but that isn't exactly a pittance. That said, don't get me wrong, the traffic hold-up is definitely annoying.

Hey jack ass, In Arlington County and other areas they are called parking attendants. They are not officers they just work for the PD. I'm sure they call them "parking enforcement officers" in Fairfax since they do everything backwards anyways. Heh, have you checked what board you're posting on? Just sayin'... I know what MBF was saying. I'm just saying MBF was making a stoopid point and I'm

that is not correct. fairfax county employs quite a few "parking enforecement officers" "Parking enforcement officers" who work for the FCPD are quite different than "parking attendants" who don't and work on private property. Perhaps I was taking the original poster too literally, semantics-wise. No, I don't watch too many movies, LOL. EDIT: Realized it was not "Derrick" who originally/incorre

Does not have to be a cop. Could have been a parking attendant that wrote that ticket. A parking attendant from where? For it to be a county ticket, it has to be a county officer, even if they're auxillary.

Just a typical nazi tactic. Lets cruise the streets looking for expired tags and inspections. Nah. Another theory, and probably one that is correct, is this. Maybe one of your neighbors called the police to report the violation, so an officer was dispatched, found the expired inspection and issued a ticket. I'd bet money that's what it was. I've been told by officers that they don't have the

Just drove by the Burke Village 7-11; apparently someone drove right through the front window this morning. According to the officer I spoke with, the person didn't realize they were in "drive" and they drove all the way to the back of the store. The police were blocking all entrances to the store and there's yellow tape around the front of the building.

If you're going to call someone else out, at least have the nads to do it under your own name. Anyway, the post would have more of a point if it was the fireman who had been breaking the law. Not a woman with the same last name. LOL

What's the difference in taking the time to write about it here every couple of days; perhaps there would actually be a result of it were directed at someone who could take action or at least make clarification... ;-P

Dave Albo copied me on an e-mail he sent out 7/24/07. The text follows; I would like to know why this hasn't been in the media yet. Everyone: I have repeatedly told Mr. ###### and Mr. ######## numerous times that the out of state drivers can be put back in. I see that they cc'd you on an e-mail, and just wanted to make sure that you also knew. The bill originally had them out, the Senate fig

As sensative as you are to this you must be a tick. For those not aware a tick is a volunteer fire fighter I just had someone check the county employee directory; he's definitely not a tick...not that I personally think any less of Vol. Firefighters.

It goes right to the FCPD and a letter goes to the registered owner of the car if the descriptions of type of car match the plate number you provide. When I worked for the county board of supervisors we would get complaints from people who received the letters, LOL.

Weird; they're sending them out but they're not uploading them. I got several via e-mail yesterday, one about a Park Authority park manager being arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage boy, and two other releases, one about a robbery, can't remember the other.

I think there are two different plates; one (that allowed you to drive on all HOV lanes during restricted times) is not available anymore. Here's a VDOT page that may help: http://www.virginiadot.org/travel/hov-rulesfaq.asp

It's still the best place to raise a family, if you can afford it and can stand the traffic. Personally I think the teachers should make more. The property taxes the county govt makes off of us better be going to something other than DUI checkpoints and red-light cameras. Pay those teachers more so they might have a chance, a DREAM, of being able to actually own a home and pay those hefty propert

Sakura's website is "sakurasteakhouse.com" so saying they're not a steak house is a bit misleading, though, as you say they do have other seafood and sushi. The quality of the food was subpar, IMHO. Shiro actually has Japanese folks on staff, Sakura didn't when I was there.
