Appears they're sealing the road per this map: http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/northern_virginia/northern_virginia_paving_program.asp Maybe the striping has to be removed before they do so?

Sweet! Some more new vacant office space and storefronts. We definitely don't have enough of that in Fairfax City. At least the old Le Peep/Joe's Pizza will get torn down.

The caveat is that the lot has to be under an acre in size. I looked at the tax map information for the lots on Ainsworth Avenue and most of them seem to fall within that requirement. Even if they're over half an acre, the county will still send them a warning letter; it just won't do any follow up enforcement action.

Since it's a county project, my question is why Supervisor Cook didn't ask the DOT to start the project in the summer break when school is out and traffic is lighter. No brainer here.

Those signs are actually installed by the schools, not VDOT so I recommend reaching out to the schools' office of safety and security. See the FCPS website: http://www.fcps.edu/fts/safety-security/faq.shtml#5 Question: I received a speeding ticket issued by the Fairfax County Police Department in the flashing school zone. Who operates these flashing signs, and what times do flashing school zone

He was great; his circus club thing was neat, especially to see it in the Fairfax City Parade. I liked those wheel things that people rolled in. He died years ago, in 1999.

Assuming this isn't a troll post...if you were on the parkway you were in Fairfax County. Fairfax County has not reactivated its red light cameras. If you weren't pulled over by a cop then you won't get a ticket.

It was listed for sale outright; but offers were supposed to be in by 9/1. Wonder what happened. http://looplink.divaris.com/xNet/Looplink/Profile/Profile.aspx?stid=/broker/divaris&LID=19261453&LL=true&UOMListing=&UOMMoneyCurrency=&RentPer=PY&SRID=5832139414 GMU has enough land IMHO; it's turned the Braddock Corridor into a traffic nightmare when school is in session. Yes, it was remodeled in the 90s to the 50s-60s aqua & pink diner-vibe thing it had going on. Before that it had a, darker brown/black/orange décor and a different layout.

VDOT's paving Clifotn Road this season. This website http://www.virginiaroads.org/Mapping/#PavementConditions shows you the roads' pavement conditions and if they're on this season's repaving schedule. Of course, they're doing Old Keene Mill right now and it doesn't show it as being repaved this season, so...caveat emptor.

http://archive.va811.com/newtinweb/tktsrch.nas Do a search by month and street name (You don't need to include "Rd" or "st" etc.). It will tell you who requested the markings. Just FYI, sometimes you have to do the search twice if the first search doesn't pull up a record. Weird.

The Pit Stop which is by one of the roundabouts out in Gilberts Corner (Aldie) on Saturdays and Sundays has the best bbq in the area IMHO. Their pulled pork and smoked chicken salad are excellent.

Tried Tony's in Fair Lakes for the first time last weekend; got a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni (new york style). I don't get the hype. Their pizza sauce is nearly flavorless. It wasn't bad but it's certainly not as awesome as people praise it to be. Pomodoro and Mama Lucia's are superior in my book.
