The TSA is all window dressing to make ppl feel safe. Almost everything they do is too little..too late addressing past problems. The whole back-scatter x-ray scanners thing is to deal with bombs strapped to woman's breasts (Chechan separatist blew up a Russian airliner this way). The TSA doesn't stop and search enough "random" passengers to really catch anyone.
