NOT excusing them, but sometimes this is caused by speech to text. Which is done to save money, and of course anything that saves a company money *must* be good, right? (Yes, that's sarcasm.) Never mind that it breaks the hell out of the process! No politics involved, just penny-pinching and disconnect between quality and money-grubbing.

And it's worth finding out how to reset the "oil change needed" light yourself even if you don't change it yourself (Google is your friend here). Otherwise if you ever have it changed *before* the light comes on, you'll be out of sync and then when it does come on, it won't mean anything. IOW, if you have it changed before the light comes on, make sure to reset it yourself afterward.

Great shots. "last day open" -- fSVO "open"! I proposed to my wife at Bresler's way back in the day, so I was sad to see the mall go (even tho Bresler's was long gone by then).

Funny thing is, I remember when pollock was considered a trash fish: they'd throw it away. Long John Silver's was one of the first places Americans were exposed to it, per https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-07-19/fisherman-turns-80-into-1-1-billion-by-popularizing-trash-fish

I don't know when that was introduced, but surely it involved some renumbering. I know that the number + "first four" of the street name are unique. So if there are both Peach Street and Peach

Long shot, but can anyone tell where the one on the Access Road was taken? Seems like it might be by Rt. 28, since that overpass/culvert looks brand-new and there wouldn't have been much new out there getting farther from Dulles, but tha

Well, this isn't in that league, and we didn't go all the way home, but a buddy had a 1975 Chrysler Newport two-door that he bought in 1980 for $500 with 275,000 miles on it. Had zero compression in two cylinders on the one bank, so cranking it with the hood open was a bit scary -- engine looked like it was about to climb out of the bay. It once managed to back a plug all the way out of one cyli

I worked around the corner from the original Five Guys, which at the time seemed to be more like Four Guys and Their Hot Girlfriends. Great burgers; haven't had one in years, though.

My attachment to my heat pump is based on not having gas in my neighborhood! Been her 28 years, have replaced heat pump twice (once shortly after moving in, once a couple of years ago). We don't hate it, but boy, if gas were available, we'd have switched in a heartbeat.

Could it be a "real read" vs. an estimated read? That happens sometimes: they estimate for a few months, then come and do an actual reading. That can lead to a surprise (in either direction). I'd call FCWA. They've always been remarkably coherent, the few times I've had cause to call them.

Caldwell's and Mountain Jack's. Of course we're talking over 25 years ago -- I have to wonder if I'd still be impressed by either place nowadays. But back then, we enjoyed the hell out of both of them.
