C&O sounds cool - never rode it. W&OD west of Rte 28 is definitely high-speed, just terrific! Although now there's a detour on a stretch between Leesburg and Clark's Gap due to construction of power lines. One must either ride on a circuitous detour through neighborhoods and some guy's farm, or ride on a roughly parallel road that is a quite satisfactory leg from Leesburg to Clark's Gap
