Spandex shorts/tights are a healthy choice for cycling accoutrements. Not only do they not get snagged in the drivetrain and potentially cause an accident, but they compress muscles over long rides to help mitigate the deleterious effects of millions of micro-impacts as the bike rolls over pavement and/or terrain. Those millions, and in some cases, billions of micro-impacts hasten the muscles to

That's sad to read that Ol' Jack passed away. What a great guy, always had a smile on his face. He'd be proud to know that some of his students still star-gaze with a telescope....

Ol' Jack used to run it - he transferred to OHS in 1983-1984 from Annandale HS. He liked to play Pink Floyd inside the planetarium while showing the (artificial) night sky to us students. Long haired, hippy-dude, pretty cool. There was even an Astronomy Club, yes, I was a member......ah the good old days.

You don't see this kind of thing happening among the enlisted ranks, what's up with those zeroes, anyway?

Was at the Giant's, even had a receipt. But the girl at Henry's and their driver said that they didn't care if I had a receipt. Then I watched 3 asians get out of their toyota in the parking lot next to the M&T bank. There was a Henry's goon lurking in the shade under a tree, watching them. He nabbed the car before the threesome came back from the bank. Unbelievable. You're playing roulette

Heads up for anyone planning on patronizing University Mall - STAY AWAY - they have Henry's Towing Service goons lurking about and towing anyone's car whose driver so much as steps onto the the sidewalk on the perimeter of the parking lot. Even if you go inside one of the shops there, they'll tow you anyway. The price to get your car back is $125.00. STAY AWAY FROM UNIVERSITY MALL.

As an avid cyclist, these are the practices I employ while riding among pedestrians: 1. Slow down while approaching anyone from the rear. 2. Always loudly announce your presence at least 40 meters from folks ahead of you if their backs are turned. 3. Always check for some kind of acknowledgement from pedestrians of your presence and direction after providing a loud verbal warning. If no acknowle

@ It's Clear - You're correct! These passive aggressive wusses who whine and complain about cyclists are indeed unsatisfied with their own fat-laden and predictable lives sitting in traffic and listening to this nation's worst range of FM radio in their slow-moving cars. Cyclists, on the other hand, have important business at hand and are well rewarded for their efforts.

This one reads a little like that lady from McLean who had the beef with her neighbor and FCPD. Forgot her name - funny, paranoid run-on rants, though.

Can't believe how many folks around here texting and driving - they must think that this is perfectly safe... Cannot count how many times been stuck behind a car at a traffic signal - light goes from red to green - car in front doesn't move, and the driver's head is tilted down doing you know what. My favorite move is to lurch forward and stop within a foot or two behind the douche and mash the

Watched it from an office rooftop in Reston - approached from the east over DC, straight towards us, then gracefully bank to the south heading for its first turnaround over Chantilly - beautiful.

This is a zero-sum game, folks. Only 24 hours in a day; starting school later won't change that. Start later, finish later - nothing changes.
