I think the weatherchannel is fighting obsolescence. In the old days, you either had to wait for Weatherman Bill to do his national weather at 5:00 pm or you flipped to the weather channel where they gave nationwide weather reports every 15 minutes and local weather reports repeatedly. The internet now makes that possible instantly.
