True, and Meade does exude that Ted Haggard brand of christian repression.

Robert, you're so annoying it makes me wish Richmond was left for dead and buried after Jeff Davis accidentally razed it in 1865.

He plays in Richmond's thousands of art galleries and museums. Much like Richmond, Meade's music harks back to a time of night riding and cross burning.

Jerry Falwell perfectly represented the Virginia that must be explained away as "the other part of the state". His legacy is the end-times mouth breather. You can thank people like him for Virginia's national reputation as a state still grasping Jim Crow and Jesus as its governing principles in 2007.

Nik -- I agree on the Nats team, but I didn't start watching on MASN 'til '06. Bob Carpenter was all right but Paciorek was just plain weird. Fittengly, they fired him a couple weeks ago. He'll be remembered for his varied gutteral noises, horrible impersonations, and repetitive observations a'la "herky jerky motion" and "tight, compact swing".

Currently: Bill Maas and Ron Pitts. FOX's E-team is simply the worst. Basic rules misinterpreted. Spotting the ball akin to blindfolded dart tossing. Maas' childlike use of the telestrater always impinging on live action. The hammerlike repeating of simpleton observations. But the all time bad commentator is Joe Morgan.

I propose secession from the rest of Virginia. We'll call ourselves North Virginia and relegate South Virginia to Arkansas-like poverty and education numbers. Their 19th century worldview will whither on the vine as they ponder life without Northern Virginia's generous tax revenue. Oh yea: we'll annex Charlottesville in sort of a cold-war West Berlin scenario.
