Like most here, my yard is taking a beating this summer. I water ~3x a week with irrigation system, I'm a bit surprised how much crabgrass I'm getting. Anything I can do to fend it off during the summer?

Nice thread and I'd like to chime in regarding another reason why parents strive to get their kids into the G/T program. It's the perception that they're being held back in regular school programs where material is taught in a repetitive manner to ensure the lowest performers succeed. My daughter was accepted into GT going into 3rd grade next year and I don't view it as a status symbol althou

fwiw I serve on my community HOA because I when I moved into the area I felt like I wanted to participate in my community of ~900 houses and townhouses. We counted 19 police vehicles between Centreville and Ballston. The worst impact to traffic were the gaggle of cops just inside the Beltway - 2 of them standing in the middle of 66 looking into vehicles and pointing them over. Traffic picked up quickly after passing these pricks, I'm willing to bet those actions alone were responsible for adding ~15-20 minutes to the commute. fwiw Counted 12 m
