How has the policy been changed? I sure would like to know. Does the FCPS internal investigator still go into the interrogation with the acccused, the attorney for the accused, and the FCPD? Believe it or not, that's what happened to me. Curt Barbee, the FCPS guy, was in the interrogation room with me, my lawyer, and Detective Ordonez. Afterwards, since they got nothing from me (there wa

Yes, these posts did veer off topic. Yes, I am referring to Tommy Amaker. I met his mother once and had a long conversation with her. She said that they were related to James Lee (the black man who owned much of the land on Annandale Road in Falls Church. She also had reason to believe that James Lee was part of the family of Robert E. Lee (not sure of the dynamics there) and you know what th

Chris Warren and Andy Heck also played basketball at Robinson and WTW, respectively. I forget the tournament, but Chris made a shot to defeat the Cavs and to dash their hopes to return to state for the first time since 1966. In 1984-85, Red Jenkins had a tremendous team featuring Heck and Greg Kimball. The least talented member of the squad played at Duke. Both played only football after high

The New School on Pickett Road is for students who do not fit in elsewhere. If you are gay, the New School is tolerant. If you are a guy who likes to wear dresses, the New School is tolerant. If you are a girl with anxiety disorders, then the New School is for you.

FCPS first has to find out IF and when a bus driver gets that DWI. If the driver does not self-report (who would?) then FCPS might not learn of the charge. Yes, I know all about the LIST. It sits in the Transportation Area offices and is opened rarely. FCPS has been known to request from the DMV records of individuals who no longer even drive school buses. That is in violation of the contract

Go to www.historicaerials.com. Use Centreville High as your point of reference. Move down Union Mills Road and you can see some of the farm outbuildings if you use the 1949 and 1962 aerials. Be sure to use the overlays if that is helpful.

It was the Ivakota farm used for unmarried mothers and delinquent girls. Kate Waller Barrett was the mover and shaker behind it. The property has since been developed.

Why not let drivers park their buses at home like in the old days? That's what Mrs. Heath did. Her husband built a huge driveway off Hunt Road and there she parked her bus. There is still plenty of room at the end of Pickett near Frost. Drivers could also park at one of the many elementary schools. No additional parking areas are needed.

I have done the job and I probably started with FCPS before Linda did. I worked for FCPS my senior year of high school. It is obvious that you don't know the meaning of the word sedentary. It comes from the present participle of sedere, the infinitive in Latin for to sit. You, Mary, might be an exception, but most drivers operate their buses while seated. I was trained as a special ed and

As many posting here know, I am no fan of Linda Palmer Farbry. She never met a piece of chocolate she didn't like. Due to the sedentary nature of the job, bus drivers typically have BIG GUTS and BIG BUTTS. I'll try to find out for you.

I wouldn't disclose it. If you don't get accepted to your top choices, stay at home, go to NVCC for a few semesters, and then transfer. UVa takes such things very seriously.
