I know a partner at Hogan. A sharp guy, he went to Washington & Lee and UVa. He sent his daughters to a fine private school. His daughter was very impressed with Virginia Tech. Banks Auto,south of Massaponax,started on Backlick Road opposite the tank farm. Then the family moved to near what is now Potomac Mills. The business moved to Massaponax about 15 years ago. Other posters have written about it.

Somehow the Thompson family was connected to the Rose Hill farm off Franconia Road. Last I heard, the barn was used as a pool clubhouse and converted to a day care center. Try www.historicaerials.com using Rose Hill Elementary as a base point.

Many parents will consult a lawyer specializing in education issues. They'll threaten to sue FCPS unless it provides the tuition for the child to attend private school. Millions of tax dollars annually are funneled toward private schools for this purpose. The folks behind the Lab School, the Phillips Programs, Accotink Academy, New School of Northern Virginia exist as a result of such lawyers.
