1892 US embraces and celebrates the development of Western Civilization. Columbus is honored with the World's Columbian Exposition (1892 World's Fair) Wrigley showcases it's new chewing gum. Quaker Oats are introduced Westinghouse demonstrates its alternating current system of electricity, which is used to light the fair. Today SJW's cry about Columbus's contribution to the demise of Nat

Man you're making me feel old. It seems like yesterday it was still open I think the last movie I saw there was in 2003. Man on Fire with Denzel Washington I only saw it because I was a big Mickey Rourke fan and he had a part. Afterwards, I walked all the way home to Annandale. Warm summer night. Good times. I grew up in Mt. Vernon, and it was basically a carbon copy of the Mt. Vernon

No thanks Can't run around the block at this point BTW I haven't attended the Taste of Annandale since it's inception in 2015. The Annandale Chamber of Commerce used to put on something similar in the Safeway Parking Lot on the same day as the Annandale Parade. But they stopped after the 2014 event. They had a live band. The Tom Davis Dr event seems to be run by The Korean chamber of Commer

Is the Pickett Hot Shoppes, Jr. now Enstein Bagles (after being Roy Rogers for awhile) or is it the other side of Picket, where the Mcdonald's is now. I'd say the McDonald's as Einstein faces 90 degrees different.

I saw a bunch of black people in yellow vests doing this at the interesection of 123 and Braddock Rd. near George Mason University on Friday Afternoon. The traffic was very busy and they probably made a killing. They looked kind of offical, like they represented an organization but didn't mention one and had no signage, so, yes, I think they were scamming people. We didn't give anything.

Saslaw has been around forever. I remember when he ran for Congress in Fairfax County in 1982. He came around door to door and my Dad tore him up in a debate. He left mumbling to himself.

Now the western part of the County gets to understand how those living near the RT Corridor felt when Section 8 became rampant 25 yrs ago. LOL. It will only get worse with the D's in control of the Board of Supervisors. Those with sense and means are flocking to Loudoun County.

Edit: It's not Wedgewood, it's Fairmont Gardens The cops are at Fairmont Gardens quite a bit. There have been some murders there, this incident is relatively minor. Fairmont Gardens is pretty much 100 percent Hispanic. Probably not all illegal, but plenty of illegals for sure. There was an anti-ICE protest there a few months ago.

Fran Conia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > engleside plaza shopping center date unknown. Wow That was our "go to" hsopping center in the 70's. They built that ugly addition around 1976. The People's Drugstore moved out, and McCrory's took it's place. The addition blocked the view of People's Drugstore. The A&P left around 1978 and Pershing Market took

Wouldn't an educated person have "Awakened" instead of "Woke" on the t-shirt? I guess fluency in Ebonics, rather than proper English, qualifies as "educated" these days.

All drinks are $1.00 since a few months ago. They are probably getting more orders of large than normal because of the cheap price and are either running out of the regular large cups, or using the styrafoam cups to save money i.e. compensated for the low price.

I read that book in 9th grade in FCPS in 1984. Inclusion of it in the reading curriculum is nothing new. However, removing Huck Finn because of use of the "N" word is a recent SJW inspired move.

I entered the offices of the Law Firm where I worked as a Paralegal on K ST at 9:00 and proceeded up the elevator to the 10th floor. As I opened the door to the office, the lady across the hall from me said a plane had just hit the World Trade Center. I immediately thought of a small plane. The thought that a commercial plane would hit it was incomprehensible and did not enter my mind. We went ov

Eastern Loudoun is filling up with rich, hypocritcial Libs fleeing Fairfax County. Loudoun went for Hillary in the election. Comstock only won by a few percentage points Eastern Loudoun is tipping the balance against her. She may hold on in '18 but it won't be easy. Frank Wolf easily held her seat for 34 yrs.

#BLM - Yes, we know the difference But the emotional alt. left just cares about legacy of slavery. It is a slippery slope. Don't expect them to understand the nuance you just described and not go after the slave owning founding fathers. Just watch and wait. Meanwhile the genius Al Sharpton has already begun to agitate: http://www.dailywire.com/news/19835/al-sharpton-threatens-jefferson-me

If the US govt thought that was appropriate, they would have done it in 1866. Why now 150 yrs later. What has changed? The US Govt had a sense of nobility and a respect for their vanquished foe. SJW's of today lack any such nobility and honor. The SJW's are similar to the Radical Republicans who wanted to destroy the South after the war. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed after the war.

Yes, the Fairfax County Historic Image Viewer is awesome. I was at Fair Oaks Mall yesterday and I looked at that spot for 80, 72 and 90. It was a Golf Course in '72 and the mall was under construction in '80. I looked at Annandale in '72 and was surprised there was no access to Medford Dr. making a left from Little River Turnpike as you headed east. John Marr Dr. was under construction bet
