Regarding the Roy Rogers on Picket St: Based on the cars in the photo, the photo is from the 1975-1977 time frame. I grew up in MT. Vernon, but I used to swim at the Star Light? Indoor pool across route 236. The pool has been gone since the late '70s or early '80s. I used to go across to the Roy's after swimming. This was in late 1977. I am sure he is a good and qualified Principle. His military background hopefully, can help with student discipline. I had forgotten all about that slide located in Springfield. I believe I went there a few times at about age 3 or 4. I was born in 1969.
