Godspeed on getting yourself out of our little hellhole called Fairfax. What with one of the highest average household incomes in the country, one of (if not the) best high school system in the country, world class dining.. I can't imagine why anyone would enjoy living here.

As far as I know, they do still live there.. but the two sons have gone their own separate ways. I still see Spin on occasion in Richmond. Tell me about the cars. One white Saab, one white (I think) old BMW, then they bought a junker to restore.. bigass old white somethingoranother. That thing wasn't rusted out.. it was MOLDED OUT on the inside. Absolutely disgusting smell. I'm getting chil

334. Re: Taxes
You hit the nail (partially) on the head. Even if the tax rates haven't gone up, it's still a tax hike. (Though I bet you can't find a politician that will actually call it a tax hike!) I have an idea. Lets get rid of property taxes altogether so that people can actually own things. If you have to pay the government every year to keep your land, you don't actually own it. And that's not cool

I'll have to stop by there sometime. I had the some absolutely delicious food when I was in Thailand in January, but everywhere I try around here is horrible. I even took picture of the really good dishes. Fried squid. If they could make me something that tastes as good as that did, I'd eat there every day. Green curry. Mmm, authentic Thai Food.

Who says that tailgaters have to get your blood pressure up? It's a game to me, making people go crazy over something so mundane. But then, I'm not worried about the repercussions.

Actually, I sat and watched someone run a red light at an intersection with cameras, on 50 by the police station. The guy was coming off one of the side streets and just blew across the intersection. Of course the cameras are only aimed at 50 so they didn't get his picture. It was an incredibly stupid move that could have ended in tragedy. I sat there with my jaw wide open in disbelief at wha

Yeah, one was on 29 in Centreville right after the Centreville Farms / Union Mill intersection. I was going into Centreville Farms. The second was on Stringfellow right at Melville lane. Not a big deal, but a huge PITA. I've also heard they do the one on Stringfellow regularly.

I know that Cary posted some info about checkpoints for St. Patricks weekend.. does FFX do press releases or anything of where they will be having checkpoints each weekend? I ran into not one but TWO checkpoints doing the bar/party circuit tonight. Not that there was a problem, but cresting a hill and seeing police cars blocking both directions of Rt. 29 with cruisers and a PADDYWAGON kinda fre

On top of the asshole owners and waitstaff, you have to be able to handle the top-notch food they serve at Amphora's. /vomit

Yes, because no single person in any modern nation in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, or South America has ever made an ignorant comment about an entire ethnicity. Do you really think that anybody agrees with what was said above? And even if you do, you have to know we in America don't have anywhere close to a monopoly on ignorance and hate. We had to import that.

Take the money and don't fix the car? That's what I do when people hit me! Cash in the bank! I don't know if my shop Casey's (Chantilly) does body work, but they're very dependable and honest. http://www.caseysautomotive.com/ Morty's off Willard in Chantilly does a lot of insurance work, but they were not at all friendly to me when I went in to get an estimate before reporting an accident to

Okay, I've never been to Ned Devines (Main & Chain Bridge in Olde Towne FFX). Is that what you were referring to? I don't know of any bars on Main & University. There's Bridges on Main in the Mosby building, they usually have live EDM DJs. I've only been there twice, once to support a friend of mine (Cryo) who was spinning and another to get trashed. Fast Eddies is a very chill pool

Yeah, saw the same. No stakes at sponsored events, gambling is illegal in VA. I know there are some betting games at GMU though.

I graduated in 2001, and I was in the class that I was referring to my junior year. That would make it the '99-'00 school year. It was some horrible old bat that wore this little microphone on her lapel to talk to the class. I don't know if she still teaches there. What a miserable experience.

Check points make me angry. If they don't even have reasonable cause to pull someone over, they shouldn't have the authority! Stupid bureaucracy. The checkpoint didn't even do any good. Look at what the press release says.. they caught 33 people with the DWI patrols but 1 with the checkpoint. Most of what they did at the checkpoint was cite people for expired tags and improper equipment and

You guys should have been in my computer class at 'Tilly. It was the one with visual basic.. I got kicked out permanently from that class and had to be an aid to security (the shop teacher who moved from Rocky Run to Chantilly, forget his name now) :O Then I had to have mediation with the professor and she started insulting my choice of hair style at the time. Ahh, memories. The stories I cou

That's the best part of living here. No matter how insane, how fast, how aggressive of a driver you are.. somebody will *always* out-crazy you. I attribute my never having been pulled over for speeding to that fact.

If I'm not in DC (Fur, Nation, Etc.) there's always Bridges in Fairfax.. If you like EDM that is. I used to hang out at Green Briar Shopping Center at all hours of the day. I even got yelled at one time by an off duty police officer for being there at 4 or so in the morning with a bunch of friends. It was probably even a school night too, though I don't remember for sure. Ah, those were the

If those are the guidelines (because I really don't care enough to check the farq myself) then they imply that a post with the sole purpose of advertising an Internet site is inappropriate. Including a signature that points to a web site is not. Maybe you should point your righteo

Oh, the law? They can impound cars for just about any reason. Drugs, being even remotely related to drugs, aftermarket car parts.. stuff that makes no sense whatsoever. The law is completely arbitrary in a lot of respects. Speaking of arbitrary, I personally have been in a court room being charged with a traffic offense for which I could have gone to jail.. except I didn't do anything wrong,

The place on Metrotech is Alf Laylah wa Laylah (translation: 1001 nights). I just call it "falafel" because I can never remember the arabian name.. Very cool place. The owner is a very chill guy and I go on occasion with a bunch of my friends. I haven't ever been there on a Friday or Saturday night, but I hear it gets packed.
