It will end up in your drinking water. But who cares right? There is a big push right now to "clean up Fairfax" by Fairfax County. Also, tax dollars were spent do make the repair, which was done incorrectly. Now more tax dollars are going to be spent to clean it up and do it again. What ever happend to doing it right the first time? And, I was not complaining about it, just answering a qu

Here is the deal....they tried to repair the cracks in the cold weather so the tar was not absorbed. Now, they come through with the plows directly on the pavement scraping up the tar. The plows are supposed to be 1 inch off the ground. Tar is some nasty stuff right? Now the tar and all the bi-products are going into the storm drains which are going into the creeks and rivers. Somebody shoul

From the Post: Other board members suggested ways to chip away at problems in a system that was called at times "abominable" or "uncivilized" and requires some students to be at bus stops at 5:45 a.m. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Who is at the bus stop at 5:45? 2. What school do they go to? 3. Is there a school closer to them than the one

I was not really impressed with their food either. Short of going to China town in NYC, China town in DC is not to bad. Fortune is not to bad either. For dim-sum you gotta try Lucky Three I think it's called. Rt. 7 next to where Theismans used to be which also was the previous location of Fortune.

Annoyed Teacher, I hope you and all your co-workers have made a strong push against this. Once the SB realizes that 99.9% of the teachers and other staffers are against this it will be dead in the water.

NO, we all do not sit down to breakfast at the same time during the week. However, that does not mean I should not fix my children breakfast and let them eat it without being rushed. The point is, we do not shove them out the door with a pop-tart and rely on them to eat a snack at school. I am betting: 1. your children are obese and not very good students or 2. they are skinny and skrawny and

That family that let their texting stats be published in the paper should be so embarrassed. Seems like it should be a crime for one kid to text so much. If the high school kids truly must have more sleep, do not do it at the expense of others. Figure out a way that the other kids do not suffer. The elem. kids need just as much sleep if not more than the H.S kids. And the poor middle school

9-5...those are bankers hours. And we all know all the jokes that revolve around "bankers hours" I think the norm is probably 8. Most people, given a choice prefer to go in early and leave early. I didnt say Loudon has already gone back to the old bell schedule. I said one of their bus drivers has said they will be going back. I wouldn't mind if the blue bloods of Langley and McLean were

Loudon Co. did the switch about nine years ago. They have seen no benefit. That is why they are going back to their old schedule. I think the people that want this change are just overindulging parents. The "what can you do for ME" type. Make your kids buckle down and step up. They are not first graders anymore. And....any group can go out there, throw enough money and some researchers and
